They are still only making 1000 foundation series, no? It can't be too long then before we all get ours I'm thinking (assuming they are filling all foundation series orders first).
There is no empirical data to support the following statement...

  • Given the statements at the last earnings call about conversion rates and demand meeting the 2024 capacity (paraphrasing)
  • the amount of foundation series offers we keep seeing show up in new waves
  • Very few Cyberbeasts have been delivered yet we are well past 1000 VINs activated.
I would say its a safe bet to assume the number is not 1000, it is larger but no one really knows how large...

I personally think- Why would Tesla not offer every pre-order from the pre launch to the delivery event the foundation series? It's the first series. They will most likely make millions of these trucks over years and years. They want to sell as many 20k accessory packages as possible. Their goal isn't to make customers some one off collectable vehicle. The goal seems to be profit for the company and share holders. I can't believe how many people still think Tesla is making them a collectors car lol. If thats what you want, buy an exotic. Just my two cents :)

I don't think everyone thinks it's a collector car. We were going to buy FSD anyway and that's $12k. Getting the truck early with a little bit more money is not too bad.

Hummer EV SUV still has a $20k markup and you don't get anything extra. As for Tesla, they can't build them fast enough. They only had a few to sell for delivery event and sold as many as they could make. Franz even cold called people 48 hours prior just to sell the last couple of Cybertrucks.

the referral credits pisses off everyone else waiting. clearly Tesla doesn't care about us compared to the influencer freely marketing their product to people not on the waitlist currently.

This has been a long four+ year wait....

Most of you have me by a week and a half - it took me until 11/30/2019 to make my reservation (RN113086xxx). By all accounts, and the current fluctuating rate of invites, it may be another six months before I get that far and probably another year before I see my Beast.

I have seen much on these boards regarding production, orders, invites, lag, etc. In the end, it comes down to business and meeting Wall St. expectations for the next quarter. So, without transparency from Tesla, there is little to do but wait until reality hits us in the face.

The move to mostly AWD production makes sense with slow-ramp production on a single line - they can just make more of them more efficiently while the work out the issues when scaling production. This will increase short-term revenue and (hopefully) result in a stock bump during the next earnings call.

Production ramp is slow as each time you increase speed, the weakest link breaks and you have to regress, find the issue, engineer a fix, and try increasing again. This lather-rinse-repeat process continues until you reach the production capacity of the facility and is what Elon calls "Production Hell" - it never scales quickly and easily - especially with something as new and unique as the CT.

As Tesla addresses these early issues and can scale production without decreasing quality and consistency, we will start seeing improved numbers and more vehicles. However, I think people have been misinterpreting much of what has been said. Elon stated they should reach production capacity of 125K CTs this year. That does not mean they will production 125K vehicles, just that they will be at that annualized capacity run by the end of the year (meaning from that point forward they are capable of production 125K vehicles per year).

With the slow ramp, it is probably going to be more like 45K - 50K CTs produced in 2023. That also means 2025 should be a good delivery year with annualized production capacity increasing throughout the year from 125K of annualized capacity in the early months as they increase to 250K of annualized production (so no, not going to produce 250K in 2025 either).

As for delivery states, there has already been mention of the fact that they are only delivering to states where their service facilities are trained and up-to-speed on the CyberTruck. Unfortunately, this was not done prior to production and it will take some time to get them all up-to-speed.

So...now we wait, ponder, and wait some more...

Same exactly as you but I’ve still got no vin or anything. Ordered as soon as truck went up, completed on the 8th, approved for PowerShare and silence. But congrats on your truck! I guess the 30k credit celebs cut me in line.

It does seem that way. Hopefully they give the line skippers the low vin trucks waiting on repairs at the factory and we get the higher vin new trucks ?
