WTF!?!? First, congrats. Second, I'd love to know how Tesla decides who wins the VIN assignment lottery. Stock owner? Previous Tesla owner? Delivery State? Date reserved? Seriously what is the calculus behind VIN assignment???? just venting out loud.

Yike, sorry to aggravate you, was just trying to share my stats. I also have no idea how it's decided, as I said I am nothing special. As for previous owner, not sure if that has any weight because it seems like most of the orders placed are from people who already have a Tesla. For all I know, I got lucky maybe being in the right location queue if someone ahead of me declined or cancelled.

Super happy for you and your experience gives me hope that my early February configuration in Texas will get a vin assignment within the next 30 days.

Welp the wait may be almost over here.

1) The first 5 digits of your RN# - 11275
2) The date you configured your truck - 12/19/23
3) The date you received your VIN assignment (if known) - 03/26/24
4) The Date you will take delivery (if known) - "this week, truck is on site"
5) Your state - UT (Pleasant Grove pickup, even though I am in SLC)

Submitted insurance information today, waiting on trade in offer for my 22 Lightning to see if that is involved or not LOL.

No one special, no line jumping, Cybertruck will be my 3rd Tesla and I do have their solar.

Is there a way to tell? I thought a lot of deliveries and videos show more SoCal drivers. Interestingly, when I talked to my local insurance agent to set up insurance, she told me I was their third Cybertruck. I asked if they were in our town, thinking I'd be seeing them around, but she said she couldn't recall specifically, only that they were in the Bay Area.

Not sure if the reporting is up to date but I’m seeing 1/11 AWD config dates getting Vins in SoCal whereas I’ve now seen multiple Feb configs get VINs in NorCal.
