Any drivers experienced the middle finger by ICE truck drivers? Today I got a double whammy of the bird + a thumbs down. I really wonder how they would be if I was parked and we were both outside of our cars.

Note: I am one of the few FS CTs in northern Idaho.
It's happened to me (thumbs down and "that's the ugliest thing...").

I've received mostly positive feedback thus far, although all the Rivian drivers have refused to even acknowledge me ?‍♂
Strangely the Rivian peeps in SLC have been some of the most interested. Every one of them I’ve talked to in person have a CT res somewhere down the line.

That being said, I am jealous of the Rivian truck pass thorough… ⛳?️

Yeah it's funny how peoples expressions can fully manifest around a car or truck.
I am sure many project the idea of typical Tesla owners in their own mind. Why shouldn't they. Some of us can be real pricks.

Geographically we are almost always surrounded by idiots. Idiots just tend to feel comfortable when more are around, and the feelings are commisurated.

Again Tesla owners tend to also feel the same way. When they are surrounded by other Tesla owners.

Throw a different colored duckling into the mix. People just lose their shit.

All being said. A gentle conversation about torque and horsepower usually settles even the most hostile ICE owner regardless of political ideals. A slap on the back. A jump in the back changes just a wee bit the projection of a Tesla/EV owner. I will do that every day.

Made some really good friends and neighbors with my perpetual motion thingy as many call it.
We get together to get wood for the woodbank for the poor, and my first name is Tesla when I show up at the bar. They chuckle at the car show. Yet we all eat Ice Cream the only way it should be ate. On a cone.

Northern Idaho I almost moved. To A town called Good Grief. I think that says it all.

I’m in Florida, and have received almost universal positivity from people. The number of people who are super excited to just see this truck has been unreal. I stopped at the drive through of a McDonalds in a rural area and the entire staff came outside to take pictures. I have been coal rolled a couple times, maybe it was intentional maybe not, I don’t care. Any ICE truck driver who flips the bird or does other such nonsense I would just laugh at, because their insecurities are on full display. If your truck is so great, why do you care what I drive lol?

I think a lot of Rivian owners feel real butthurt by the Cybertruck. It's a shame, but you can't fix stupid. I support anyone who wants to go electric, who cares what brand it is? I welcome Rivian owners at the Supercharger too, they already feel sheepish enough using two spots and having to squeeze in where they can.

I do think RJ Scaringe needs to re-think his decision to put the charge port of their future vehicles on the passenger side rear. That's a real douchebag move. There are hardly any Rivians relative to the number of EVs with charge ports on the driver's rear (or passenger front) so he should put his ego in the closet and follow in the footsteps of Elon. But he probably thinks it makes him look like a follower, instead of a leader, so his ego won't let him. In the end it will just make him look foolish because Tesla created the NACS standard and it's in everyone's best interest to make it work as efficiently as possible.

People that coal roll a Cybertruck are probably just helping their owners test their HEPA cabin air filters for possible leaks.

Not just by cybertruck, but also by rivian themselves. They probably tried to talk themselves into the rivian by saying the cybertruck would never come out or was ugly, or would perform badly... But when they see one in person and it looks better than they think, and the performance is getting rave reviews all around, they probably do feel annoyed that their thing isn't the best thing anymore.

The reason they also probably have a sour taste in their mouth is they are all stuck with adapters for the life of the vehicle, because rivian will not offer a retrofit service. Even if an owner wants to pay for it, they will never have built in NACS unless they wait until the 2025 model year, and buy a new vehicle. That sucks. Adapters are awful. Does it function? sure. But it's an extra piece of junk you have to dick around with before your vehicle starts charging. In addition to the manual flap of CCS. People who got rivians, or really any EV, prior to NACS being included, really got the short end of the stick.

To be fair, I've had the CT for less than a week, so my sample size is small.
