That guy is lying, there is no way for that pedal cover to jam the accelerator floored due to the spring tension on the pedal. Even when he tried to demonstrate what happened, it sprang back as soon as he removed his hand. He couldn't even replicate what he claimed had happened.

Just unreal.

I have no idea of the truthfulness of the Influencer, but as well as I can remember there have been instances with other non-Tesla vehicles in the past where the accelerator pedal was not well attached and had a possibility of wedging itself into a bad position.

So in my book, not completely unbelievable.

Don't bother texting. I have been able to speak with the service center at Raleigh about my CT by calling them directly at (919) 420-0280. Even if they don't answer right away, I leave a message and they call me back.

I have spoken to them 3x since my Sunday appt got cancelled. They were happy to explain the official reason as we all know know. There is nothing they can do about this delivery hold until the accelerator issue is resolved. This does not mean every truck has an issue. It just means they are holding them all until they are either cleared or repaired.

I do not believe there is any way the Raleigh service center will release new trucks until the hold is cleared. They were very clear about that point.

Mine is in holding as well. Local Delivery and Service Centers are often the last to know anything. I'm expecting a few days to formulate the solution, possibly a few more to create whatever is needed to resolve and then a few more to ship products to Service Center and a few more to install. And then a few more to reschedule deliveries.

Bother the Delivery Center will probably result in no answer or a BS answer.

Same here in NJ. Was hoping last week to get a delivery date of this week. Now hoping next week to get the call or text to schedule a delivery date. Looks like my March delivery will be in May. ?

I have a 2010 Rx350 that got recalled because of the carpet/accelerator issue.
The dealership just trimmed the corners of the pedal. I think the carpet already had secured in the front, but that might have been added too. Many design flaws take time and use of the masses to get uncovered.

Let's hope that Tesla can get this under control faster than the NHTSA can get moving. NHTSA only creates red tape to the process.

I'm not sure why you expect the NHTSA is going to rescue anything. We'll know the problem well before they can get their press release written, let alone approved.

Two week delay. Apparently they can’t just use adhesive to secure the pedal cover, they need to design, manufacture and ship out thousands of new covers.

I went into the showroom today to talk to them and they scheduled me for Wednesday so you think they'll still push it out? They just sent the Plate temp permits so it seems like whatever issue is already fixed...
