Offroad Lightbar installation instructions in Service Manual (mount on windshield - retrofit)

I hadn't seen this posted before (but didn't search that hard, haha!!).

Looks like a straightforward install using double-sided tape.

I'm curious to see what the aftermarket will come up with as well.

Interesting Note from the install page:

The Tesla Lightbar for Cybertruck is designed only for off road use. Tesla by law cannot install the lightbar electronics and configure the vehicle for lightbar control.

Did I miss where the light bar harness connects too. Other than that pretty straight forward. I worry about the integrity of the two sided tape. Particularly here in Florida where it gets pretty hot.

No, there's a note that says:

The Tesla Lightbar for Cybertruck is designed only for off road use. Tesla by law cannot install the lightbar electronics and configure the vehicle for lightbar control.

They just show routing the wire harness under the roof trim, but that's it.

Good point! It looks like there is no physical harness to connect to, except the electric wiring, which is technically not an anchor point. I worry about the integrity as well. What will happen if you take the truck for a car wash on very hot day? It better be a super strong weather resistant glue.

I think these things will sell out as soon as they go on sale and be hard to get for a while. Only a outrageous cost will keep me from buying. Like many others, I really wanted the integrated light bar behind the windshield included with the truck.

I sure hope you don't have to repeat the entire installation procedure if you miss the last step (Step 8).

The light bar at the top is a MUST for me.

However, I will wait it out to see what the aftermarket offers. My daughter drives a VW beetle, I installed her rear spoiler as the Mfgr spec’ed using double sided tape. It also suggested 3 stainless screws which I did. Never had a problem.

Three screws - adds 1.5 ounces to the weight. I don’t think that will reduce my mileage TOO much.

I hoping that aftermarket creates a way to plug in but snap/click on the roof rails. Not needing to adhere to the glass.

I’m not an engineer but somebody will come up with something! IF you know of CT aftermarket lighting products, please share links!

WTF does " The Tesla Lightbar for Cybertruck is designed only for off road use. Tesla by law cannot install the lightbar electronics and configure the vehicle for lightbar control." mean?!?! Does this mean we will have to install it ourselves or take it to an aftermarket installer? Will we not be able to turn it on via the touchscreen which mean we wont be able to use the app to turn it on either? Or does that mean that Giga Tesla can install it at the manufacturing plant but service centers can install it?
