I ordered the AWD just to get it sooner. Placed a cyberbeast reservation on 1/2024 to hopefully swap over in 2-3 years after production ramps and mfg kinks are worked out. Maybe even a refresh may be available.

After taking delivery of the AWD and seeing first hand the workmanship & cosmetic issues I am extremely happy with my decision.
LOL - I did the same thing! AWD to get it sooner and then placed a new reservation for the Beast. I figure I can get most of the cost of CB by selling the AWD at the right time, and driven a new Beast for $35-45k out of pocket. ?

Taking it onto a track is one thing, but the acceleration of the CB is simply just not useful on regular roads or any type of off-road scenario. Still it's not really a track vehicle either, could probably benefit with track tires ?
Most people who drive fast sports cars/motorcycles don’t do track days, and it never gets old to have lightning acceleration even at stop and go traffic or freeway ramps. I’m saying this with good amount of experience on both regular roads and track days.

Fast cars are not meant for only track days. OEMs spend millions of dollars to make them street legal.

Any vehicle that goes 0-60 under 2.6 secs and has amazing cornering is definitely track ready. You have to drive or ride one to really understand what I’m talking about. Cyberbeast by all means is a very legit track vehicle.

Looks like you ride fast motorcycles. You might have tried bmw s1000rr. We are talking about that level of rocket acceleration in a Truck! Of course, not everybody needs that type of acceleration, but saying that Cyberbeast is not a tract vehicle is heights of ignorance. Porsche took several decades to make 911 Turbo that hit 0-60 in 2.6 secs. Do you know how many street legal cars do that type of acceleration, and do you know how many of these cars that are trucks priced at 100K? The answer to the last one is easy - only one - Cyberbeast.

I'm glad they didn't segment the trims with much else besides speed and minor interior/exterior flair.
I guess you have never tried to get up to speed when pulling a heavy load onto a highway on ramp. This is what the truck is for lol.

Just saw a teardown video on the cyberbeast 3 motor version. it was revealed that the two rear induction motors are not in use when just driving down the highway which only requires about 20 HP. I'm wondering how much this helps in range? My purpose for wanting the cybertruck over my model Y is comfort in roadtrips because of quiet cabin, smooth ride with its air suspension, hating to go out of my way to get gas, and ability to power the house when the power goes out. How many power walls does the cybertruck represent?

I have seen people say the cybertruck is worth about 8 powerwalls

I reserved a tri-motor in 2019 because of the larger battery pack and almost 500 mile range. When time came to order, I got a dual-motor with the same 123 kWh battery as the Cyberbeast but a few more miles of range. The Cybertruck has more than enough ā€œget up and goā€ for me. Neither have as much range as I’d like or need. Still, I bought one. I hate the idea of losing 1/3 of my load bed to an auxiliary battery.

M52, I have the beast.
Less because of the 0 to 60 acceleration but more because I was concerned that from 50 to 90 the AWD would be slow.
Thoroughly enjoyed the beast for 3 days until the compressor died on me and it’s been at the service center ever since.

The only reason I would’ve order the Beast was if it provided more driving miles. The sole reason I didn’t do the Beast was just that.

Listen it’s ok. Not everybody can handle 845hp

I have a model 3 performance. It’s fun. It’s quick. I wish I’d bought a Y LR instead. So we did that too.
I originally reserved a trimotor w/FSD back on the original unveiling day, but after years of owning the M3P, I learned that range is more important than a bit quicker acceleration to me. Else I’d just buy a Plaid S and call it a day.
Still don’t see the point of a 10 second pickup truck. You gotta stop that thing. The AWD is already silly quick: 0-60 in 4 seconds dead and the 1/4 in a low 12? That’ll be plenty for 99% of people. Have fun with it. Just doesn’t make sense to me is all

I am not young and I’ve never bought a new car ā€œfor me.ā€ This will be my first and likely my last, so I’m getting a beast. I don’t off-road for the sake of off-roading but I go to remote places to hang glide or paraglide and want as much capability as the beast will have. I’ll get the range extender and will have the vehicle of my dreams.
As an HG/PG pot become kiteboarder I do not think I have ever gone to a launch site that my old Toyota Hilux didn’t handle just fine. So my question is, wrt the HG/PG comment, what is it about the beast that you think will be different/better in that context? I think it is fine for anyone to buy anything they want; I just don’t see the value in that context.
