My wife loves my Cybertruck and has driven it more than I have!

I want to buy her a Cybertruck of her own.
can I use my own Referral Code for it?

Thanks.

If she creates her own Tesla account and purchases the truck with it, then it would be the same as any stranger using your referral code. You could then add each other's accounts as drivers to both cars.

nope, I ask my son to use my referral link so that he gets $1500 off & I'd get $1k credit. The trade in car is also mine but he's buying the new M3 Highland-may be the policy is the same whether it's Cybertruck or not.

Just tried to use your post to convince my wife (also loves the truck) that we need a second CT.

I used my own referral code on Dec 2 to try to double dip on the advice of some folks online. I took delivery on Dec 14 (awesome vehicle!) I received the (then) $2k referral credit, but never received the $1000 referring credit, even though I did get an auto-generated email saying I qualified for "loyalty benefits". So I do NOT think you can receive both. I'd say use a friend's referral code to spread the wealth.

Loyalty benefits are for an existing owner buying a product, referral benefits are for new owners. If his wife could benefit from somebody else's referral code, then she can use his. The question is if she's an existing owner in the eyes of Tesla. If you registered the existing Cybertruck to two owners at purchase, she would have had to provide registration information via an email address tied to her own Tesla account and she's probably considered an owner. If the original CT was registered in only his name, then as long as she's the purchaser (and the only one on the registration), then she should qualify as a new owner. It's possible Tesla checks registration address and will still consider it a loyalty purchase and not a referral. In either case, both the loyalty and referral rewards right now are $1,000 to the buyer. You'll miss out on the $500 in referrer credits though if Tesla considers it a loyalty purchase and not a referral.

Can confirm this does work. Me and my partner did this, used my own referral and received 2k off the order.

Yes. This works. Got the referral credit last year doing just this.

Yes works. I did it recently to buy a model x.
Received 2k off and also got the credit of 1k.
I used a new email and tesla account to order the model x.
In future will move the model x to old tesla account.
A little bit of inconvenience as now I have 2 cars in 2 accounts. But ok as anyways the primary drivers are different. Plus got the full benefit of 2k off and 1k tesla credit.

Correct. And same here with my CT. If you use your own referral, it’s a loyalty discount.

However, if she doesn’t have a Tesla in her own account, then you should be able to refer her (because she’d be a new Tesla owner) and you should get the referral credit. It just won’t work if she already owns a Tesla (I know bc this is what happened to us when my my wife used my referral link to upgrade from a 2021 M3 to a 2024).

EDIT:
To add, when my wife used my referral credit, the web app will say “you’re using xxx referral” do you will think you’ll get referral credits but what Tesla’s system does is treat like a loyalty credit.

Absolutely just have her set up her own account. I’ve done it more than once.

Pretty sure they have inventory, and you’d get it within a week.

When you go to the order page, scroll down and it’ll give you an estimate. Example: “available today” is what’s in my area (Boston)

If you have multiple email addresses, I am thinking it might work? Separate tesla accounts that way. ?‍♂

Just know that you will have two different profiles then.
