During my ski trip last weekend, I noticed that the left 2nd row window of my CT had a gap at the front side. Later I found out that it only shows up when my CT is in a cold environment (below 35° F or so) . It disappeared after parked in direct sunlight for hours, reappeared after one night of outdoor parking in cold (around 20° F), and disappeared again when got back to warmer area (above 50° F).
My theory is that the the multilayer glass is like a bimetal strip. Its shape is affected by temperature. In this case, lower temperature makes this piece of glass bending more, forming a gap. Since it only happens on my left 2nd row window, I think I just got a flowed one. A normal one should not bend this much.
I'm trying to get this piece of glass replaced during my next service. Wil update after.
---Update---
Door adjusted during last service for free. Will update the result when drive in cold again in the future.
