Tesla Cybertruck Door window gap only in cold weather 20250122091006

During my ski trip last weekend, I noticed that the left 2nd row window of my CT had a gap at the front side. Later I found out that it only shows up when my CT is in a cold environment (below 35° F or so) . It disappeared after parked in direct sunlight for hours, reappeared after one night of outdoor parking in cold (around 20° F), and disappeared again when got back to warmer area (above 50° F).

My theory is that the the multilayer glass is like a bimetal strip. Its shape is affected by temperature. In this case, lower temperature makes this piece of glass bending more, forming a gap. Since it only happens on my left 2nd row window, I think I just got a flowed one. A normal one should not bend this much.

I'm trying to get this piece of glass replaced during my next service. Wil update after.

Door adjusted during last service for free. Will update the result when drive in cold again in the future.

Check and see if it is up all the way? On the Model Y, Tesla had a feature that in cold weather, the windows would not go all the way up into the door frame to prevent issues with ice. If they have the same thing on the CT, it could be without the window firmly pressed up into the frame, it doesn't get fully seated and sealed?

That said, I haven't noticed the same on my truck but I haven't paid attention. I'll keep an eye open.

I’m dealing with it as well. Last time I had it in for service, they couldn’t reproduce the issue because it was over 40F. They asked me to just bring it in next time it happens, but that’s not an easy ask given it requires it is both cold enough outside and that I have the availability to “just bring it in” right then.

I have found that rolling the window down very slightly mostly eliminates the issue, and I’ve also noticed I can feel at least the driver’s door shift when I do this. Something is clearly out of whack, but I’m having a heck of a time getting it addressed.

This is absolutely a thing. We've had temps below 10F here and the windows are not sealing correctly unless you fiddle with them. My solution has been to lower and raise the windows slightly several times - definitely helps and reseals the glass to the weatherstripping.

My wife thought it was our kids messing with the windows, and I put blame there! But I noticed it without them in it, that until my truck warms up I have a gap on one of the rear two windows. However - it is not always the same window and never is it both at once.... It is alsmost like it pops out a little bit when it is cold. Ill try to capture on video when it happens again. A single cycle of up and down makes it ok. I didnt think it was anything until I saw this post...!
Someone post a fix!

I'm having the same issue. Worse when it's frigid and windy (if it is cold enough, i get a high pitched whistle on the passenger side). It's so bad having a conversation is difficult. If I lower the windows by a minuscule amount (1/8"-1/4"), sometimes the seal grabs better and it at least tolerable. I've been to service once already but they "couldn't recreate the noise" so did nothing.

I've decided this truck does NOT like cold weather- everything seems to be happening when it's freezing out. I think the seals and wind noise are drastically less in the heat

It's more likely that the doors are contracting/expanding than the glass.

Mine doesn’t necessarily whistle like that, but you can definitely hear air getting by this window seal
