I added a photo of my tonneau cover and a screen shot of the service bulletin for the fix in the service request and said “request service bulletin fix for tonneau cover” and they fixed it. See pics for rework screenshot and the pic I included of my old tonneau gap.

I had this service performed on 1-17-25. Added one slat, gap no longer present. Gap was a snow and ice catcher. Cosmetically looks better.

I tried multiple times to make a service appointment for this. When I arrived each time, they rejected it and said the tonneau is not meant to be waterproof or even resistant. One time, one person said, it depends on how much water gets in and they would need to measure it. Not sure how that would be done since the amount of water that gets in is dependent on the amount of water from the outside so it varies. Anyone have tips on which SC would fix it in NJ or NY? I tried Brooklyn and Paramus with no luck on either. Also why don't they tell you this before you arrive so you don't spent the time to get there just to be rejected upon arrival?

I just had the same thing done on mine yesterday. They added 2 slats so those holes wouldnt be exposed. See how clean the left most 2 are, they were added. Free of charge.

What was the timeframe to have this work completed? I would guess about 1-2 days?

I’m starting to lose my patience with this tonneau gap issue. SC didn’t want to do it when I spoke to them two days ago. CT is in the shop at the moment. Something about will take four people to do the job. If it needs fixing then fix it!!!!!! Is Tesla obligated to do this rework?
They just added special tools to do the job on 1.23 as well.

This should not and is not about the water getting in, the tonneau does not look right compared to the reworked tonneau.

Based on the service manual, the FRT is 1.20, which would be 1 hr 12mins to do the job.
