I think there are maybe two connection points / one somewhere on the roof that requires soldering- likely because it is too hard to pull the wiring to the side pillar with a connector attached. When I had my bar installed they ran a wire into the pillar with a push in connector unplugged. I made the mistake of prying the push button off for the door latch and I split the adhesive holding it in place. They need to explain better how to get to the screw to remove this panel to get to the single screw that allows the b panel to be pulled away to see the male and female connectors underneath for the lightbar. So I made the connection and tried using two sided 3 m tape to replace the glass push button for the door but it would not stay adhered. The service center replaced the entire panel.
Okay, so I did the same exact thing and was so upset with myself! Did they charge you to fix what happened? I received a quote for the door trigger piece that popped off and the broken plastic trim piece that snapped when I tried to pry it off :(

Here is the B-pillar removal process:

That would have been helpful! I was told to “remove” the panel under the large black glass piece by prying it up until it snaps off / - I made the mistake of assuming this piece was the door button that seemed to make sense might just push onto some clips. Nope- my mistake. Tesla could remove the b pillar panel and then allow the customer to physically connect the wire plugs and then Tesla could reinstall the panels. Could have you sign something that says you did the connection yourself.
I am in California - so maybe this stupid rule is one of the many endless stupid rules here in California.

I asked Tesla service if they could cover the cost for the replacement parts I broke while trying to follow the instructions for the B pillar and they said no.

So glad it worked out well for you. I will never use this service center again. Luckily, I have another within driving distance. Incredibly awful and hostile environment here from the service advisor.
Same thing happened to me. They didn't even provide the lightbar jumpers. They told me to buy generic wires to solder it myself.

My local service center says they have no way to order the light bar and no way to install it in their system. I'm thinking about going to another service center, can those who have successfully ordered and installed list out what service center they went to please ??
The service center i went to said they'll no longer install any more lightbars. I gave them too much headache about the soldering part. i went there 5 times to get it done and they declined even when I went over the document on their own PC.

This is both shocking and shameful!

There were a few other CTs outside waiting on different services. The service techs talked very loud so I could hear that they said CT was the worst vehicle they worked on and wish they never touched them. Then one of the advisor came to me and said they added a lightbar to mine as a favor since they are very rare. He said they will not order anymore and will not touch them again since it's illegal in CA.

Check your software via the screen to see if it's already connected. I too took the trim pieces off for the connection and found that it was already connected.

On a separate note, for those with the lightbar installed, has your light popped up from the windshield? Mine is doing that now... not sure if I should blame the cold weather or something else, but it's not staying put on the windshield.

(You can see the gap of light under the bar)

Well, I guess it’s my turn. I knew I was jinxing myself by bragging about how I’ve had basically no problems with my truck.

Today, my detailer noticed that my light bar has completely lifted off of the windshield on the drivers side and was probably on its way to flying off the truck any day now! Thank God he caught it and brought it to my attention!!!

Traveling for the next several days, so I’ll try to get a service center appointment ASAP and get my tonneau cover fixed as well, (I’ve been delaying that) and maybe they’ll fix turn my can’t rails into can rails while they have it. ?

My service appointment finally came and went. They were able to fix my lightbar glue issue within 3 hours vs. needing to hold it overnight for the glue to set. I'm cautiously optimistic - for now it seems to be sticking to the windshield.

On a separate note, I took mine through the carwash and the mops damaged the side mirror. Never ending list of fun here.

Got my truck back late yesterday they had it for two days to do the repairs had to remove my MarsAG rack to do the repair repairs to my tonneau cover.

It looks like they just glued the light bar back on. They did not do my cantrails and thank God because I wouldn’t want them to put that crappy, scarred, weld-spot stained mess they’re apparently applying right now.

***Importantly, my SA said that there was no chance of them putting one on my truck at this point, as the replacements are severely constrained which I’m not sure matches with the recent suggestion that they’re being welded on at the SC.***

My cantrails are fine and I don’t want it touched! I’ll ACTIVELY avoid them, if necessary, until they have a better solution or stay this way forever!

Anyway, the coolest thing about my experience was that they gave me a Foundation Series AWD as a loaner and that was truly amazing to get to see how the other half lives. I have a lot more to say about that in a different post! First time I’ve driven or been in, for more than a minute or two, any other cybertruck but my own. I sure learned a lot!

Make sure you file a claim with the owner of the car wash.

Did my Tesla shop fumble on my light bar install? I opened ip the B pillar and found the wiring harness but it does not seem like the light bar was soldered into the connector. Any thoughts?
