I think the issue is getting the early reservation price of $7k, not ordering FSD in general.
Shouldn't Tesla give the poster the $7K pricing in the upgrade section of their app? It is supposed to be their account, not something generic. The question I had was whether the poster had even tried the upgrade section as it was unclear.

Giving an alert, and the reason for the alert, is a vitally important part of the driver understanding that they are using the system in a way that is not intended. How could that possible be a "stupid alert"?
I understand maybe giving the alert once and have the user acknowledge that using the gas pedal when auto driving will prevent it from auto braking. But it’s like having an alert in your tv that says “the channel is about to change” every time you press the channel up button on the remote, I know, I pushed the button, it’s my intention.
The system still flashes red and beeps when it actually needs to brake, so it’s not like you can’t just use that as an alert.

They can't just give the alert once, it must be consistent (and I'm sure that's coming from NHTSA). Plus, there could be a different driver behind the wheel.

Changing a channel on the t.v. won't cause death or serious injury, so the analogy doesn't quite work out.

So you freely admit that you don't read the important context about the program, thereby you don't know how to properly use it, then come here to complain about it?

?
You got him! he is a complainer! :ROFLMAO:

Now are you familiar with the phrase "being self-critical" ?

It's not there. Upgrade is listed as $8,000. The only place where $7,000 showed up was the order invitation.

Of course.

Also, I just learned some people have to pay for Karen to drive the CT. When they let Bob drive the CT, it’ll be worth something. Right now it’s a novelty. Or for long haul truck drivers. Or people with horrible commutes. Not practical for real life, but close.

It would be worth a few grand if it could actually drive you places while you're taking a nap. We're anywhere from 2 to... 20 years from that though :D I was just driving using regular Cruise Control and the truck kept telling me my cameras are obstructed. Yes, it's dark on an unlit highway, it's neither snowing or raining, cameras are clean, but the video subsystem is seemingly degraded just from the lack of day or artificial light.
I sort of thought that was the intention behind saying “full” in FSD…the SD CT can do has some applications, which I’m sure will become more obvious once they get it perfected and/or put a muzzle on Karen the CT attention hag. Although as of now it seems like we are just helping them develop their taxi program software. Presumably truly full FSD is something they don’t plan on giving us even if they do succeed in creating it?

I acknowledge if my phone is in my hand, it’s an auto warning/strike IMMEDIATELY, but the level of scrutiny is still off the hook, with no phone. I set up a camera to watch, and my eyes are darting over the horizon, and L/R mirrors like a crazy man running from the cops. It’s exhausting. If my eyes stay focused and still on the car in front of me, I get a warning, and it’s not audible!!! If I don’t respond, its a strike.
If you suspect that it has flagged you specifically, you can create a new driver profile to see if that behaves any differently.

It's a matter of regulatory approval. Current ToS is all based on the presumption that it's still work in progress and isn't approved for public use. Once it's approved, Tesla can't withhold the product people actually paid for.

Utter nonsense. The vast majority of FSD users do not agree.

Major cheat code:

use the voice commands, they work very very well

Double-wow, definitely download the image there to your phone or print it out for the car. That's a great resource!

I for one am pretty damned tired of the car giving out forward collision warnings of cars that are parked or while on curves for cars in the opposite lane. It seems to me that if object collision detection is part of FSD then...
This is definitely something to be tired of, but it happens because the collision warning system is a simple rules-based system, not FSD.

Don't agree on what exactly ? In my recent testing I found that FSD does reduce the energy spent on driving, even if you're forced to stare at the road like you wouldn't normally do. It will still try to kill you in sub 1% of unusual situations though. Some people report that it works flawlessly for their specific drives, but I haven't had that experience. Decent, but not flawless.

You can also adjust the collision warning to be less sensitive under the Autopilot settings iirc.
