Neighbors Called Police on Cybertruck

When I took delivery of my Tesla the delivery center screwed in my temp tags weird and stripped the mounting holes.

I have an appointment to fix this on February 19th. Until then I have my temp tag displayed on my dash. There is no rear window so only place to display is dash. I previously spoke to a police officer and they advised that is okay. Yesterday my new neighbor was taking photos of my truck and today two police cars arrived at my house asking me for my registration and why I do not have a plate on rear of the car. Advised they had received complaints. I explained the situation they gave me until February 18th to fix which is the day before my appointment. I am not even sure how Tesla will fix unless they install a new cover or bumper, but surprised my neighbor is so bothered by my truck she called the police.

It shouldn’t be necessary but perhaps talk to your neighbor especially if she is concerned about your truck.

wow, time to move. The truck is IN YOUR driveway and the cops demanded to see your paperwork??? TWO cop cars? HOA? It is registered, correct? I would back it in the driveway to they can see the info on the plate and tell you neighbor to stop invading your privacy by taking picture of your property.

To your particular problem - not sure if that will fly in Colorado but it worked for me in California and Nevada - I was once driving a new Model 3 and the rear plate just fell off at some point, so I had a new one printed (copy of the front one) on paper and just used tape to stick it for until I got new plate. Drove through CA and NV as I said, no issues, although I could've just been lucky.

What ever you do, do not park in front of their house, on a public part of the street, and apply a magnet on the side of the truck towards their house. Just don't do it. ?

This is not a legal investigation by police. I advise you to file a complaint with your state internal affairs office, request the full report they received from your neighbor, and equally file a false report claim against your moronic neighbor for lying. I have no inclination to believe that the cops showed up merely because your truck didn't have a plate on the rear. They absolutely must have produced some sort of other lie about the situation.

This type of nonsense needs to absolutely stop. Cops cannot show up at your front door and ask about the papers for the property that you have sitting in your driveway. absurd! ?

I thought the same thing when they gave me the fix it ticket. The truck was parked in my driveway. Also why did they call my truck Junk lol.

yeah, your truck sitting in your driveway doesn't fit the legal definition of junk or inoperable. I would seriously hit them back as hard as you can. We need to stop tolerating this type of BS.

Sounds like they are attempting to intimidate you. Don't let this slide man. Go after them.

If you want to DM me your neighbors address, I can check Google street views for city ordinance violations. Better yet, if you have an HOA I could probably wreck their entire year.

Why not just tape the temp plate to the rear window like the law requires? It seems that is what they want.

I would also tape one to the front window, passenger side, so it can be seen.

If I taped it to my rear window wouldn't the vault block it? Plus I spoke to a police officer and they advised me to place it in the front window.
