it's a good stress reliever if you treat it like meditation. You only focus on one thing. I hope you try again.

Literally five minutes or less guys. Including unboxing. I’d say a total of 10 tries.

I do have prior professional training though.

I’ll share my secret. When you’re trying to figure out where the sweet spot is for one of these, bounce the object that you’re trying to mount up and down. Since, you don’t know exactly what the height is -just literally move it up and down quickly (but smoothly and rhythmically) like you’re dribbling or it’s bouncing and the field will show you, intuitively, where it needs to be. You already know that it needs to be dead center, so you really only have one axis to worry about.

If you’re even a tiny bit of off-center, the base does wanna snatch it out of your hand, so a firm grip is key until you find the sweet spot - then slowly let it go.

didn't know this would be good for training my Jedi mind. I just got backup power and scared to redo it. Gonna wait for a sign from God aka lightning surge.

I’ve had to set it up close to a dozen times because of my kids and two power outages. It does get much easier with practice, and it only took me a few minutes the last time. Don’t give up!

I gave up, haha!! Already submitted for a return.

It’s just not fun when you get it to balance 1x out of 1 million tries, haha!!

A little trick that works for me: Hold the truck with both hands, front facing you, while lowering it onto the platform. (Align front of truck with power/light button)

Placing it sideways doesn’t seem to work as well.

Those of you who are really having to try 1 million times with no success should double check to make sure that you have power. Unlike other bases that I have, this one the magnet is always on and you can sit there thinking that you are trying to balance it And it’s never going to happen. I think that’s kind of a design flaw. There’s always some amount of repulsion but it will not balance unless it’s getting power. The way to be sure that you have power is to make sure that it’s turned on and even if you don’t have it dead center/balancing, the lights on the cybertruck will turn on if you’ve got power to the unit.

If you have power my advice above will work. If you don’t it’s never gonna happen and you won’t know that you don’t have power to it - say you’ve got a GFCI out or a bad socket or something like that.

May the force be with you!

Understood.

Yes, I keep trying until the base overheats and then, as you say, the power goes out and the lights on the CT won’t light up. Then, unplug and let it cool down. Rinse and repeat over and over and over and over.

WAY too much trouble for a $250 toy, haha!! I seriously wonder if I have a defective item. No friends or family have been able to get it balanced, either.

Oh well, at least I still have an actual FS CT haha!!

Took a few tries but only about 5 minutes total. I used force to keep it centered onto the base and lifted up gently. Directions from Tesla wasn't working.

Anyone having an issue with either the base over heating? The lights stay lit for about 5 minutes and then the base looses power and the truck falls from the loss of power. I touch the base plate and it’s extremely hot.

Nope, and I leave mine on all the time. Mine doesn't overheat. The only time it fell off was when my dog sniffed it, and when the electrician turned off the power to install my home backup system.
