There is no difference in magnetic feel plugged in or not plugged in. There is no "dimple" feeling in the magnetic field when plugged in. I was balancing it as shown above. I'm sure not all Cybertrucks are created equal so that's a bad analogy. I would bet a LOT of money that mine is defective. Some Cybertrucks had issues from the factory, so just because yours works doesn't mean others do. I would assume a Chinese toy manufacturer could make mistakes with some of these. I've spent several hours with it...there is no dimple in the force field when plugged in and it will not balance.
As ppl said, it timeout. The dimple lock only there when Lights On. Glad the video helped you. Pushing it down don’t do anything. That just helps him find the center. The key is dipping the back part to balance it.

I have no clue how I managed to get mine to work but after 30 or so minutes I was about to give up and I simply let go and it balanced. I said holy crap guess it’s staying there for now

No, there was no dimple on mine with the lights on. The issue was that I had to really push the truck into the magnet base for about 20 seconds. Once I let it up from there it just stuck and you could feel that the magnetic force had changed. I had it plugged in all along, with lights on, but it was still acting like it was trying to balance on a rubber ball until I pushed it into the base.

you accidentally lowered the back part more and it was balanced. No voodoo here lol.

yea that's a good method to try. really gotta have many attack modes lol. For me, I just dropped from top into the sweet spot and gently lowered it correctly.

Ok, so I watched this video. After 1 minute of trying and following these directions, I got it to work.

The key (that is not mentioned in Tesla's instructions) is you have to push the truck down so that it's touching the base for a little bit. That seems to trigger some mechanism inside the truck so that it now feels as though there's a spot or disc where it can spin. I could hear something inside the truck moving. That spot (or dimple) is not there normally unless you push the truck down into the base first.
Had to unplug mine and now trying for the 3rd time and can’t do it lol. I think you’re right about the spinning mechanism inside the truck that has to be just right. I’m able to get it noisy and spinning. Feel the rotation too. Likely related to powering it. Gotta trial and error that. Just sucks the lights keep turning off and waiting to retry. Should prob get backup power before my third and final attempt ha.

just did it 3rd time this morning. I can def say that there's a feeling of "catching a center hole" where it feels balanced then slowly release. Play around and try pushing it flat to feel that center stronger then slowly lift up. It's def trial and error too. Tried last night and the center hole just would not hang. Not sure if leaving it plugged in all night helps. The base is cold to touch this morning. Got it in 5 mins!

One more thing. It seems that the truck is floating inside a magnetic space.

I accidentally bumped mine off the stand today and had to try to put it back. Took me a half hour. Definitely tricky!!!

One thing I noticed is the truck feels like it sits into a groove that goes sideways, with no dimple. You need to move it slightly along that side to side track until you get to the exact spot. More of a pinhead than a dimple!!!
