Just out of curiosity—how do you keep your wires safe from hanging over into the truck bed? Or do you just roll the dice and hope some bored anti-hoodlum doesn’t decide to slice them for fun? I’m not leaving it while grocery shopping or anything, but sometimes I gotta stop for a minute—grab something, take a leak, you know, normal human stuff.

That actually is pretty smart, I'm assuming the glass doesn't obstruct the signal?

Very nice antenna setup. If you don't mind me asking, how did you route the coax cable inside the cabin? Thanks!

I roof mounted for a little while then conducted an experiment with my tint which made the Starlink as reliable and fast inside as outside. Turns out even a few metallic shavings in the tint are signal killers.
Also of note, flat as opposed to angled seems to make almost no difference.
So this is where it lives now. On the pizza dash.
The reason I wrapped the case in mat black is that the white reflects off the angled glass. If you put flat black wrap on it(ppf in this case), that problem completely goes away and you get a fairly discrete setup. Also doesn’t really heat up like I had expected.
My only concern is that it makes the tint a little conspicuous from outside the car but Arizona cops don’t seem to care at all.
Eventually, when I have glass damage I’ll replace (or have insurance replace) the tint with something non-metallized.
Since it’s there, I just run the cable in the groove behind the dash hump and down the passenger side to under the leather dash piece people replace with carbon fiber. Very discrete and clean I think.

It’s one of these. Great mount for both inside and outside the car in my opinion. Comes with suction cups and magnets.
if you buy 4 extra magnets can also do the glass sandwich thing.
the white top is very bright for under the angled glass though. You will see it. The wrap completely eliminates that problem.
As a fringe benefit, it’s inside the car so less susceptible to theft and when it’s wrapped black barely noticeable/attention-grabbing from outside the car.

Thanks! Going to look into this. Do you have the wrap on the face of the mount box or just the sides? Is hard to tell from your photo.

It’s just on the white half of the mount. Just to change color. I had the piece off ppf in the garage. If I was shopping for it I might get something dry adhesive like xpel armor. With mine I took the white piece off, soaked it in dish soap solution and squeegeed. Then I let it dry In the sun and reassembled it around the Starlink mini

So for those of you that mount outside the car, what’s the reasoning? For me I did it because I thought I had to

This is off topic but, DAMN! Every time I see pics of your Halo Warthog Cybertruck it puts a smile on my face! Could you post pics that show off all sides? Also, where did you get the wrap?

I can't tell you how many hours I spent playing Halo online. We had a whole league of working adults (like 100-300 ppl) who would play in a league against each other and against randos...those were some super fun times.
