I can tell you having had a head on Model 3 collision with another car, the front impact to the tire wells is worse than mine, which was combined speed about 50 mph from both cars. This was prob 60+ mph.
Oof, yeah that's brutal. I know the NHTSA head-on test is at 35mph, and that didn't rip front suspension free of the frame like that. I'm kind of surprised that all of the side windows didn't break.

Report: 5-star USC recruit Alijah Arenas involved in serious car crash
https://thescore.com/ncaab/news/3274133

18 year old sent hospital in stable condition and no broken bones, but was subsequently placed into an induced coma for some reason.

Also, the truck somehow burst into flames at the tow yard later. That will get some press.

The truck weighs 6,800 lbs and is quick.

People need to start respecting the roadway again. Thank God he didn't kill a family of 4 on their way home.
My friend who bought my 2021 Model 3 Performance (a year ago for himself) is going to give it to his son (my godson) as his first vehicle. It’s faster than my C7 ‘vett and barely slower than my C8!

I’m both shocked and terrified!

One problem I do see both in pictures and video, is that the door is jammed shut with the impact. Not sure how the kid got out... may be through the windshield... Shouldn't the doors open up. Imagine if these heavy doors get stuck, breaking them open will be difficult.

This had to be like an 80 mph hit. If this is a Beast (can't see if that is a tailgate etching or reflection), wouldn't even have taken long for him to get there.

Hope he's gonna be ok ?

“The vehicle lost control”

Uh huh.
Yep. thats what I came to say, I’ve never heard it phrased that way. “Lost control of the vehicle” “driver lost control”, but never the vehicle loosing control. Crazy

I also wonder what the battery fire was from. Possible damage or rupture to the cells, or a thermal runaway? hence the delay... ?

I wonder if that translates into "they were going so fast that they couldn't maintain control of the vehicle" (after a turn or something).

No it translates in to “the vehicle is the problem not the driver, others cars wouldn’t have crashed, only the CyberTruck”. It was carefully worded that way to induce FUD.

No, i know that was the intention of the wording. I am talking about what actually happened.
