The real ripoff is that non FS and non FSD customers aren’t getting autosteer, which is essentially autopilot. It’s literally in the purchase agreement. I was told by a Tesla employee personally that autosteer just hadn’t been released yet, but was coming. What a load of BS.
Really was looking forward to autopilot.

…now if they can only get FSD to at LEAST do the posted speed limit without prompting it with the accelerator we’d be making REAL progress?!
(Also, don’t miss the seed they dropped about autosteer elimination. This is how the easy transition between driving modes was eventually removed. So, it looks like if you were waiting for free autosteer, it ain’t gonna happen.)

What's the best way to go about my situation, I have FSD until June 1, 2025 free from Tesla with my purchase. Do I click on the link now or wait until June 1, 2025 to activate the free year?

I jut got the email. Non-FS buyer took delivery in September 2024. I was subscribing to FSD month to month so this email just saved me $1200. I'm happy, but understand those who feel frustrated it was part of the FS package or, worse, bought it on a non-FS model.
I don't get it. This free offer doesn't impact people who already have FSD, not even a tiny bit. It changes nothing. I guess some people just like to complain when others get something for free. They must hate everyone but themselves. Maybe they hate themselves too.

I have a Foundation Series and when I heard those without FSD would get a free one-year trial, I felt happy for them. This doesn't cost Tesla anything, and it certainly doesn't cost existing owners either. It just a freebie for people who either couldn't afford FSD or who thought they didn't want it.

Just showed up in my email. Now have it through end of May 2026.

Yes, signed up. I've had my non-FS AWD for almost 3 months now. I didn't want to pay the 8K, and was planning on just paying $99 a month on occasion when I want to use it for trips and things.

I’m also happy for them. Likely good for Tesla too.
It’s the inconsistency and volatility of deal making that frustrates me about Tesla. It’s impossible to predict when you’re getting a good deal because of the impulsive feeling sales tactics and business practices.
Anybody who knows me would describe me as a Tesla loyalist and I’m also a Tesla investor, I just don’t like the lack of reciprocal loyalty to early adopters.
So, apologies to all for contaminating this thread with negative complaining energy.
My opinion stands though, they could easily have and should have been better to FS buyers.

Exactly. We are repeatedly being f$&ked.
I don’t mean to sound bitter. I’m happy everyone is going to get to try FSD because it’s truly amazing.
I’m just still salty about them offering free supercharging months after I bought my truck and still not providing support for PowerShare with my powerwall 3 system.
I’ve spent more money with Tesla than most and feel like I’m always at the back of the line.
I’m in the same shoes, so sad as early buyers of FSD

I got the same email (was already subscribed for $99). Clicked through the link and got the 1 year trial. Checked my Tesla app and the paid subscription was gone and the trial appears to have started. This is AWESOME! I was gonna keep paying for it anyway but just saved $1200 over the next 12 months (enough for another nice AR and some ammo :))
Why not buy $TSLA with it? Then buy an AR on first high gains. ?
Take a Shooting safari trip off the 5 year gains balance.

Agree with all that. Except maybe the shooting safari bit. ?

Welcome to Tesla world.... it is frustrating as hell. What would be nice? Maybe a free mini Starlink to all FSCT people...?? I missed the 4k credit by days with my Beast - now 2.5k to use for "stuff" or spend another $2500 and get the system installed by a authorized electrical company...for a job that isn't that difficult (in my situation) - I love my truck. I finally got the email and an appointment to install the light bar next week....my delivery was at the end of July 2024 -

Tesla Cybertruck 1-Year Free FSD Trial !! -- did you receive the offer? 20250312_101243

Yup to me this screams that CT FSD is nowhere close to where it needs to be and they need more data, I wouldn't be surprised if they extended free FSD to quarterly etc.
What do you mean by “nowhere near where it needs to be”? I have a CT and a Model Y (HW3) and feature-2-feature comparisons show them very close to equivalent. Granted the CT is lagging behind other HW4 vehicles but FSD on the CT is SO much better than it used to be.

I am confused. Your entire comment is boldly bitter. Exactly what did you say that wasn’t bitter? Are you incorrect? No. But let’s call it what it is: bitter.

Buying a Tesla is a bit like a US Treasury bond auction where they use "dutch auction" rules:
Tesla Cybertruck 1-Year Free FSD Trial !! -- did you receive the offer? 1746632837675-vo

They start with a high price, and slowly lower it, until you are willing to buy. The risk is you may not find yourself with a vehicle at the end, as others are willing to buy before you.

I know, I know, they'll make more. You can see it happening with 2024 CTs where people are waiting for incentives to increase before they buy. The risk is other people buying and the inventory being sold off, before you are willing to buy.
