When the OEM crossbars were being delivered there were members on this forum that decried the keys being universal — they weren’t. I pointed out how it’s easy to replace the tumbler assembly (cheap on Amazon) if you want a different key. Now there’s folks decrying that they even have to have keys. No pleasing some folks.

Where do you see the numerical stamp?

I’ll check when I get home

Thanks!
I am sorry, the stamped alphanumeric is on my board rack. My crossbars key has a code, A144, but that won’t help unless you know what is on the crossbar. I opened it up and there is a qrcode and some other writing in there but I’ll have to get higher to read it. Addendum, the key code doesn’t appear to be inside the crossbar hub.

Did you already source the correct tumbler assembly?

Would you remember the link?

Hopefully you didn’t save the link in the same location I saved the keys…

Yeah makes sense they would all be the same. Some random person shouldn’t have it, just another CT owner.

I bet it's a generic key. 3D print one from an example. Someone here could measure or use one of those clay duplicators.
It’s not generic. I have two sets of OEM bars. Four total. The keys are different between the sets.

Oh. NOW I see why you would say that! I didn’t even give you the right one! I sent you on a wild goose chase. Sorry. This was just about the rack there was another one about the whole key situation, I didn’t remember that they were not the same conversation. Give me a moment I’ll update it here.

This doesn’t help you in your current situation but at least it is the right conversation that we had about the issue back-and-forth.
