I only drive in beast mode on the road.
BEAST - People think when I "dump the accelerator" in beast mode that it is a launch. This mode is always drives in LOW, has max acceleration, and most sensitive steering. I could not keep up with my brothers GTR if he still had it but any normal average sports car it will beat in acceleration and steering. If they are spending more than the cyberbeast $$ wise then it is probably a challenge.
NORMAL - I believe is still in LOW, has good steering, and good acceleration. Not quite the sports car performance.
CHILL - reminds me of driving a normal vehicle. Higher suspension, "loose" steering, slow acceleration. (think ICE vehicle)
CUSTOM - lets you basically do what you want with all three settings.
LAUNCHING - this is just fun (only available in beast mode, custom set the same way does not do the same thing). The best seat in the house is the middle back seat (remember the headrest). All I can say is it feels like the acceleration of a roller coaster.
Honestly I'm waiting for a cop to pull me over for 'racing' at some point because when you just press the accelerator down part way it just goes. I don't dump/mash/slam the throttle off the line when I'm driving. I also tend to wait 1-2 seconds to make sure there's no late traffic. The truck just goes. Getting in and driving like you would any other car easily gets you 10 car lengths ahead of other cars from a light and you are at the speed limit.
Oh, and I have conservatively 50+ launches. Probably more than 100. Every launch takes 1-2% of the battery. It does not launch as well down at somewhere between 50-60% depending on who you talk to. The other cyberbeast owner I know has 2x to possibly 3x the launches I have.
Honestly if you "like to drive", enjoy the feeling of sports cars on the road then get the cyberbeast. If you just drive because its part of life and intend to let it drive for you then the AWD is better for you and cheaper.
That is really the difference.
I know these have been answered and my answers will be similar to others.
2¢
#1 Number of motors
This needs to be thought of as more than just motors. Technically off-roading the 2 motor is still better as it lockers front and rear (3 motor only locks front).
The AWD vs Cyberbeast is more a question of the "launch" (2.6sec 0-60), rapid acceleration, and maneuverability. The cyberbeast when in beast mode acts like a sports car (speed and turning). The AWD acts like a fast car in sport mode.
#2 Boat mode
There is no boat mode, someone mentioned Tela/Elon had talked about better seals for the doors. It does have 'wade mode' which positively pressurizes the battery pack for 40-50 minutes. It makes wading through high water safe.
#3 Blinding lights
I seriously doubt it is the frunk light bar blinding you. It doesn't have any distance and isn't that bright. Likely it is the headlights that sit right above the bumper (maybe they aren't turning off their high beams).
I like to tell people if you just drive to get from A to B and will likely have FSD drive you in the future get the AWD, it has better mileage as well. If you are one of those people that like the speed/launch and like to carve and play like a sports car the get the Cyberbeast. I think you will not be disappointed with either off the beaten path so likely irrelevant there.
I've driven both and am honestly happier with my cyberbeast. It has more acceleration, better cornering in performance modes, and although not as good yet off-roading due to only a physical front locker it is getting there with software.
I think its a driving personality choice. I don't like cars but I enjoyed windy roads with my motorcycle. I no longer have that but the cyberbeast is fun for its size and performance on road.
If you are like me, you enjoy driving. Having driven both as well I would not be happy with the AWD. I probably let it FSD 60-70% of the time but any time there is fun to be had I'm taking over. If that is your personality then the cyberbeast was made for you.
It is all a perspective/personality thing. Remember even you said you were daily driving a TRX.
As a bonus I also did better on the trails than a Raptor (I know they aren't what they were when they first came out).
The downsides are slightly less mileage, a couple hundred pounds less cargo capacity, and no physical rear locker.
The "beast" mode is not achievable any other way in either model. I don't know if this is only software or if the suspension is slightly different on the cyberbeast but I don't think I've seen any part numbers that show that.
Also those are not the AT wheels and tires, they are the core.
Driven multiple of both. Yes the CB is faster off the line and up to 60 but its past 60 that the AWD doesn't compare at all to the CB. The later continues to pull strong past 90.
