Stupidest question of the day, maybe the week. Cyberbeast or keep my regular CT?

So, here is the scenario. I have a foundation CT, found a foundation Beast. About 20k more money, which is what i would have spent had I done it out of the gate.

Other than the blistering speed off the line, what advantages do you see with the CB on a regular basis? I talked myself out of the speed in favor or range the first go round but other than hauling a trailer a few times I have never had any range issues in about 13k miles.
I advise you find a buddy or rent a Beast, launch it a few times and get over it. It's crazy how this straight line 0-60MPH craze has people in total FOMO! Trust me, it's not worth it at all but hey I learned the hard way by having the Plaid so chose CT AWD and its perfect as-is.

Even with the AWD I find myself holding back and not in the mood at times for the herky jerky motion of being slammed into the seat if I punch it. Again, go experience it first then decide if you are the type who will punch it at every opportunity or not, then you will know what to do.

It isn't just the straight line, it accelerates faster across the power band. I dig it, and it seems to handle better than the CT at speed in Beast mode. And I got it this morning!

Congrats! I agree with all of those points!

It is not just in a straight line. The cybertruck drives like a normal sporty ish car. The cyberbeast drives like a lower end sports car, definitely wouldn't keep up with my brothers GTR (LoL) but would do better than a lot of things in trying (note this is only in beast mode, the software there is different).

Yeah, my wife had to point out to me that the freeway lane changes it can do are insane compared to normal trucks/ SUVs. No body roll, no hesitation. One forgets this thing is over 7k pounds with us and travel supplies in it.

I really debated getting a beast. But when I checked the specs, I didn't see where it was any faster for "normal" driving. Sure, on paper, it was faster at 0-60... but only when you put specifically put it in launch mode (which seems pretty inconvenient). But what about 35-80? All the specs I saw had the AWD and Cyberbeast being identical. This obviously assumes that those specs were correct.

Then on top of that, it steers worse, is much louder at highway speeds, is arguably worse for off-road due to the rear differential, has less range, and costs way more.

I broke it down for how many times I would actually use launch mode, and realized I would be paying about $2k per launch.

I don't know why part of me is still sad I didn't get one.
Not true. Drove both many times. Beast power is far stronger in all conditions. Beast is the best vehicle I have owned by far.

Sounds like the specs I was reading last year on the CyberBeast were just a copy/paste job from the AWD for everything but the 0-60. Thanks for correcting me. I just listed my AWD for sale and am picking up my beast next week.

Beast mode is really where all the differences are. Putting it in custom and copying what should be the beast mode settings do not do the same thing.

So I sold my October 2024 version AWD for a new 2025 Cyberbeast. What I noticed:

- The Cyberbeast definitely feels like a front-wheel drive vehicle (AWD feels like a rear-wheel drive) making it feel like a rougher ride.
- Braking distance seems to be slightly extended (makes sense given the extra weight).
- A couple different thunk and thud sounds I never heard on my AWD.

Overall, I am glad I upgraded. But the "feeling" of driving it is definitely a trade-off between the handling vs the speed.

I am also not thrilled with the build quality right now. My AWD was basically flawless. My 2025 has an uneven cantrail, a safety restraint fault, a banged up seat mount, and a leaking bed.

Yes, I've driven a Plaid. The Beast was IMO a better experience primarily due to the steer by wire. The Plaid yoke would be much better with SBW.
