Thanks, thought you’d never ask…. I have a couple three threads about it if you look up my posts…

Collaborated with a guy who works at a metal fabrication shop. Created a 5 piece set. Tailgate cap, upper and lower sail panels. Still to come is stainless roof rack system that mates to the panel attachments…Lemmie go look the link to the you tube video…

I’m 2k miles in and no body issues to report thankfully.

I’m curious—how’s the HFS (Hard Freaking Stainless) exoskeleton holding up for you?

Tesla claims it’s dent-resistant, corrosion-proof, and highly scratch-resistant and tougher than normal auto steel.

To put it lightly, I have abused my Cybertruck on road and off (including the salty beach truck playground on South Padre Island, Texas).

In spite of my best efforts I cannot break this truck, including axels, suspension, FSD, wheel alignment, armor glass, and the “cheap” vinyl, let alone the stainless steel.

The Cybertruck is a tank.

You still get fine scratches from dirt and debris on the surface if not properly rinsed before washing.. just like what is seen on painted car surfaces.. these scratches can be easily leveled out however with an orbital and fine grit..

but it is definitely more dent-resistant than a typical vehicle..

No discernible wear or tear. I do plan on replacing the plastic bumpers though.

Thanks. I had seen the other thread about the stainless replacements, just wasn't sure these were them (and didn't associate your name to the other thread). Very nice.

That was funny. Was there any mark where the shopping cart hit your door? I've wanted to do that ever since I saw an early video with a man pushing a man in a shopping and ramming the cart into the CT over and over again.

I struck up a conversation with a curious onlooker when I was exiting the grocery store, and he asked about the resiliency of the stainless. I responded by thrusting my full shopping cart right at the door, and it just bounced off.

The look on his face was priceless :ROFLMAO:
OMG. I would love to see someone's face who witnesses that. Priceless is right.

There is no better video than @HaulingAss who posted "bushwhacking" driving in his CT through what looks like a forest.

A shopping cart can hit the Cybertruck really hard without any damage. If the Cybertruck is dirty/muddy, and the cart does a glancing blow, it can leave tiny and fine scratches (but they will sand right out as they are only microns deep).

The cart would have to impact rather violently (at high speed) to actually cause a dent. Same with door dings, even a heavy car door from the 1960's will not leave a door ding on the Cybertruck's doors unless it it slammed into it with a very high level of violence. I don't want to find out where the dividing line is, but you don't have to be gentle with parking lot demonstrations using a typical shopping cart. It's truly impressive. Don't hold back, smash that shopping cart into the Cybertruck nice and hard, like a strong gust of wind drove it across the parking lot at a fast clip.

Everyone talks about how the Cybertruck is bulletproof, but that doesn't mean it won't cause damage. Even a 9mm handgun will leave obvious dents. The fact that the bullet doesn't penetrate the outer door (let alone the inner stainless steel skin) would be comforting if being shot at, but your door is not going to come out unscathed when attacked with bullets.

Short of that, it's really hard to dent. This ultra-durable body doesn't get enough attention in the media. Look at any ordinary truck that has done a significant amount of bushwhacking and you are going to see all kinds of dents on it, particularly on the A-pillar, and lots of scratches that go through the clearcoat. "Ford-Tough" just isn't that tough (compared to a Cybertruck).
