Just bugs.
The cool thing about the bugs on the vertical front panel is that those are all the bugs that would normally foul your windshield. I'm constantly amazed at how resistant the steep rake of windshield is to getting bug splatters.

The hood can get little pockmarks if a rock impacts it hard enough, but they are really inconsequential compared to rock chips on paint. They are barely detectable and don't detract from the appearance. They also don't get the orange rust discoloration stains typical of a rock chip caused by a rock that hit the front of a painted mild steel vehicle hard enough to chip the zinc corrosion layer under the paint.

A shopping cart can hit the Cybertruck really hard without any damage. If the Cybertruck is dirty/muddy, and the cart does a glancing blow, it can leave tiny and fine scratches (but they will sand right out as they are only microns deep).

The cart would have to impact rather violently (at high speed) to actually cause a dent. Same with door dings, even a heavy car door from the 1960's will not leave a door ding on the Cybertruck's doors unless it it slammed into it with a very high level of violence. I don't want to find out where the dividing line is, but you don't have to be gentle with parking lot demonstrations using a typical shopping cart. It's truly impressive. Don't hold back, smash that shopping cart into the Cybertruck nice and hard, like a strong gust of wind drove it across the parking lot at a fast clip.

Everyone talks about how the Cybertruck is bulletproof, but that doesn't mean it won't cause damage. Even a 9mm handgun will leave obvious dents. The fact that the bullet doesn't penetrate the outer door (let alone the inner stainless steel skin) would be comforting if being shot at, but your door is not going to come out unscathed when attacked with bullets.

Short of that, it's really hard to dent. This ultra-durable body doesn't get enough attention in the media. Look at any ordinary truck that has done a significant amount of bushwhacking and you are going to see all kinds of dents on it, particularly on the A-pillar, and lots of scratches that go through the clearcoat. "Ford-Tough" just isn't that tough (compared to a Cybertruck).
Thanks.
Shopping carts are kind of designed to not badly damage a car. I see most have plastic pieces in the corners to soften the blow when they hit cars.
One demo for friends when giving CT tours at home I've wanted to do but chicken out because I don't want to create polishing work for myself. Is the striking on the door with a rubber mallet. This was part of the Cybertruck stage demo in 2019 when the famous CT designer hit it with a long handled sledge hammer. Perhaps I can find a velvet mallet?

I'm 25 miles southwest of the not peaceful riots of LA. I've seen many videos of rioters trying to stop or attack drivers and flying over their roof. I imagine if someone tried this maneuver with a CT they would have their flesh removed by the sharp edges of the CT. Especially the front corner. Most vehicles are smooth and rounded. The CT would probably rip the flesh off any attacker who grabs at it.

I'm pretty sure those plastic pieces are designed to reduce noise and damage when carts are nestled into each other for space savings. Even a 100% plastic cart can do thousands in damage to a modern car or truck because they are typically so fragile. The Cybertruck's natural toughness stands out as a shining counter-example.

Ooops! That plastic top rail just did around $2,000 damage to this car:

The plastic bumpers didn't prevent this disheartening damage to the soft and fragile bodywork of this unfortunate car (and owner):

Unfortunately, the store is only responsible when the "cart boy" is negligent. If another uncaring customer abandons their cart and it blows into your vehicle, the store is not legally liable.

If carts are designed to not damage your vehicle, the designers failed miserably. The Cybertruck is completely immune to this kind of damage. I know because I have tested it multiple times. And not gently, hard! I love the looks on other shoppers faces when they hear the crash and look up. No damage. One time I even pulled a Franz and rubbed the spot with a corner of my t-shirt, inspected it, and looked up with a smile. No damage. Whew!

If the door and mallet are clean, you don't need a stinking velvet mallet, just give it a really hard direct blow, everyone will hear how loud the impact was and the bodywork will be fine!

Anyone "grabbing" at other peoples vehicles deserves whatever they get!

I am a new owner, about a month and a half. I put a temporary 14-50 where i had an EV wired. While it was parked charging overnight i large 7 ft long 2.5 inch diameter limb fell out of a tree and speared my bed cover. I woke up to this big limb hanging off the side of my new CT. I was like holy #%$^. I went over inspected the cover, brushed off the debris and there wasn't even a scratch. This truck is awesome.

My new thing is whenever someone asks about my cybertruck I say "want a demonstration " and I pull a shovel out from the bed and start hitting the back fender hard like hell. People are shocked. I have managed to create some tiny micro dents but that's after all out hard hits with sometimes sharp objects ???
Holy crap, really?!! I know it wouldn't leave a dent but I'd chicken out doing this to mine .

I'd imagine you freak out random strangers when you do that. The cool part: you know they're telling at least 1 other person about it, and their takeaway is the CT is tough as hell. :)

Yeah it's been pretty funny. I have managed one tiny little dent only i can notice but it's been worth it. I've hit it with shovels, crescent wrenches, whips(metal drywall mud mixer), the butt of my drill (as I was walking about to show a trio of people I realized it was the only thing handy) , the butt of my fist, super hard kicks to the door. I mean my confidence grows with every hit haha. I let one 6 yo kid baseball style strike it with my mud whip and man he was in heaven, I'm sure he'll be telling that story for literally decades. I had a couple naysayers change their opinion mighty quick when they say something like "that's not a work truck". Than Bam! And their like oh. I couldn't do that that my truck haha. Today I took a landscapers shovel from his hand and said "want a demonstration?" He's like no no don't do it, three hard hits with the back of the shovel left his green paint on the truck but no dent. I said it probably damaged your shovel more than my truck and we laughed ?

Be careful, a passerby may think that you are vandalizing a Tesla! :D

My brother finally replaced his Dodge 2500 that was damaged years ago by an errant shopping cart at the grocery store. The cart impacted it right behind the rear door of the Crew Cab. He said he saw it coming and jumped out to save his truck but the cart beat him by one foot! This was the result:

My brother got a repair estimate that was in the thousands, so he just left the dent where it was. He was bummed when it got all rusty within the first year. Now he has a new Dodge truck and it is no tougher than his old one (probably even thinner/softer). This all could have been avoided if Dodge made their trucks as tough as Tesla!

Never under-estimate the value of having a truck that doesn't just advertise that it is tough and durable, but where that money went into actually making it tough and durable, rather than multi-million dollar ad spends to try to convince you that it's tougher than it really is.

I mean, this was an empty shopping cart blown by a gust of wind in a flat parking lot! The Cybertruck reigns supreme when it comes to making trucks that are hard to scratch and dent and impervious to rust, even if they do get a dent or hard scrape against a rock or concrete.

After 14 months of daily driving, the exterior is absolutely perfect. Polished mine to a "platinum" finish and a hard rain literally cleans it of any dirt and road grime. Some nicks and tiny chips in the black plastic rear rocker panel/fenders, but, not noticable unless I'm looking for it. Also, lots of after-market wraps for the fenders and plastic parts if it really bothers you. The only thing I'm concerned about is the interior dash becoming discolored from the Alabama sunshine. However, Tesla say's the windshield repels over 90% of UV light. Still, I'm using a sunshade I bought in the fall this summer. Have not noticed any fading or sun damage. Just paranoid. To date, interior is perfect, well made, and cleanly luxurious. 007 has never been inside a garage. Just sits on my driveway looking like some kind of gleaming "Richard Senna" sculpture.

There is nothing tougher you can own and drive on a day to day basis. The Ultimate Gadget and rolling Sculpture.

And what? Actually do something to help? People don’t do that anymore. They’ll either record you or cheer you on if they especially suck.

My Cyberbeast survived one of the worst monsoons in recent Arizona's history, unscathed. Blowned around by 80mph plus hurricane winds, pounded by class 3 hailstorm and heavy debris, waded through flash flood up to 35 inches of raging water, torrential rain so strong, it completely blanked out visibility just in front of the windshield. Yes, this experience made me a Cybertruck believer. So much so that I traded in my last Rivian R1T for another Cyberbeast!
I love my Beasts ?
