As for the “damage”, after seeing your pics above, my guess is Tesla is lowering it due to the stickers on the rear passenger door and the graphic on the hood. I’m also guessing they are factoring in the cost of labor to remove them. So, I wonder if you can remove most of it (obviously not the wrap, but it is possible), they might adjust the trade in price back to the original offer(?).

Those are planned to come off anyway. Too personal to give away. Wife doesn’t want to have another identical truck driving around. They are just vinyl decals under a small piece of ppf. Everything else is a magnet.
Don't know how to ask them to reassess. Like I said , nobody to bitch at

What is the original offer though? Anyone?

I just sold my 2024 AWD (Non-Foundation) with 3k miles, FSD package, and black wrap. It is obviously fairly mint, only kept in garage, and never really charged above 70%.

Tesla would not take it as a trade-in (they only take Foundations). Neither Carmax or Driveway would even give me an offer. A couple weeks ago Carvana offered me appox $54k. Private party offered me $60k cash. Had a dealership in Iowa offer me $70k, but despite it allegedly being their cash price (I am skeptical), would only do a trade-in deal because they already had a 2024 cybertruck (beast) on their lot and didn't want 2 of them. I would have to get raped on their trade-in because they were selling the 2024 Beast for $91k (with thousands of miles), but with Tesla's 0% APR and tax incentives (but not being able to offset my sales tax), a brand new Beast was still cheaper.

I ended up selling it to a dealer in NY for $65k because it quickly became clear that selling an expensive car privately was a huge pain (I literally had little kids contacting me about it). I could have gotten $67k from a different dealer if it was a Foundation (which i thought was weird since a newer build has arguably better build quality like e-coat, etc.).

Someone else posted on here a few months ago that Tesla offered them approximately $65,500 (or something like that) for their foundation. Another person said to list it for $70k and take any offer you can get that is $65k or more. I think that was really good advice. If I wanted to squeak out a couple more grand, I probably could have (especially next month after the incentive is over). But an extra $2k isn't worth dealing with a ton of weirdos wanting to waste my time. The vast majority of people dropping ~$70k are looking for a dealer because that is a lot of money to bet on some random guy's "honest word" that the car (being sold "as-is") is having all of its known problems disclosed.

I talked to someone that is in the cybertruck resale business, he said it is hard to move an AWD unless it is priced $55k-$62k.

I would say that Tesla is giving you a GREAT offer at $66,900. There are many people selling their AWD for more money, but you are only seeing the ones that haven't sold. Just wait until Tesla starts selling all those trucks on their lots that just need their cantrails fixed.

Thank you. That makes me feel much better.
now the hiccup is they are saying that the new FS won’t be here till the 7th.
A bit of a gamble when the finance deal specifically says, “take delivery by June 30th”

Yeah, I took that gamble too. Although my AWD is still in my garage, it is technically sold. I am supposed to pickup my Beast tomorrow morning. If they delayed me into next month, I am not too sure I would accept it. Unfortunately, this is the gamble.

Out by me, they have 2025 Beasts on the lot... just with Core Wheels. Sure the 2024 FS is a great deal, but the build quality between a FS (especially earlier VIN) vs a 2025 model seems to offset a lot of that.

So is there a significant difference in trade value for the foundation? Mine is a FS. It comes with FSD by definition for example and “premium connectivity” but otherwise all you definitely get are the badges second hand.

Depends on the type of buyer.

FSD & Premium Connectivity has essentially no value in the eyes of dealerships (it isn't on the sticker and Tesla can theoretically deactivate it). In the private market, it is worth $0k to about $4k (but again, selling in the private market is difficult).

I think that Tesla might give you more in a trade-in for it, but they are going to deactivate it before they hand it off to another third-party dealer. I would think Tesla has to walk a fine-line in giving you something for it, if for no other reason, to get you to buy it again in your new vehicle (not to mention move inventory). It is already painfully obvious that month-to-month for these "features" is better. This is also why FSD is a tough-sell in the private market... they can just sign up month-to-month.

Like I hinted at earlier, I chose to pay extra for a 2025 Beast @ 0% APR instead of the discounted 2024 FS Beast. Too many build concerns and I wanted e-coating. I imagine their rolling production got a lot of bugs out over the course of a year. Is that worth $10k-$15k? Who knows. Depends on what will break and what your time is worth.

One thing is for sure, if a dealership pays you $67k, they have to sell it to a third party dealer, flatbed it over to them, get it cleaned/inspected, relisted, etc. Now you have a car that cost that dealer like $71k total, and a customer walks in and says " WTF, I can get a 2025 demo vehicle with 1,000 miles on it directly from Tesla for $70k at 0% APR".

That is why the AWD Cybertruck is worth $55k on Carvana.

The price is higher on AutoTrader, but that is just a front for dealerships. Those cars aren't moving.

I'm curious why you're trading in one CT to another? And I would definitely try carmax and other places first.

The aftermarket stuff absolutely makes a difference to tesla on trades. I traded my 2020 Model Y LR with 31k miles as part of my CT.
The automatic trade Estimator quoted me $20,500. When I sent them photo s with me screen swivel, and cosmetic stuff, I got an offer of $19400. They told me it was because of all the extra stuff. I asked what would the offer be if I removed all the aftermarket items what would the new offer be. I wanted to know if it was worth the time and energy to remove. They told me it would go up to $21500. For $2100, I took off all the custom items and they were good to their word.
I can't say what numbers they would give you, but the aftermarket stuff definitely matters to them.
Good luck and congrats on the new truck.

Oh and Carmax and local dealerships were slightly more, but the tax advantages and ease of dropping off, made Tesla trade worth it.

I did try CarMax just this morning. They offered 59k. Then I have to consider that I’d also be paying tax on the entire price of the new truck at Tesla vs the difference between the two if I trade it directly to Tesla . Tesla is definitely my best choice.
Now, if only they would stop being Tesla for a minute and help me to give them a massive chunk of money, we could close.
I’ll be pulling that aftermarket stuff off anyway. It’s all too personal and neither my wife or I want an identical bluey truck running around Phoenix as I said. Or anywhere else for that matter

I would send them a message like I did asking how much more they would offer if you removed the aftermarket stuff. They answered me pretty quickly, so at least you'll know what the number is and if it's worth it.

Not a dual motor but it’s a stat for your comparison. In May Tesla offered me $77,800 for a 12,000 mile Beast trade-in. I’ve ended up keeping it but if I were to sell I’ll take the hit and sell it instantly to Caravan/Carmax. Zero desire for scams on a high dollar vehicle and all the bullshit haters wasting time.
