I haven’t heard back from them yet btw. We will see.
I did find out that my new truck is in transit and not expected her till July 7th.
I’m told there is no guarantee Tesla will honor the 0% APR when I take delivery after June 30th but the same people at Tesla (multiple sales people) told me they have never seen Tesla go back and revise previously closed financing before.
So… Tesla trade-in has a little while to figure out if they are going to revise the trade offer. I’m not removing anything from the truck till I know the deal on the new truck is going down as promised.
multiple people have asked me “why don’t you just photoshop the stripe out?”
The answer is that in my opinion, doctoring photos to try and get someone to alter an offered price is construable as dishonest at best and possibly even fraudulent. Do you all disagree with that?

I agree with you. I wouldn't send photoshopped photos. My suggestion is this..
If
A) you are definitely going through with the purchase and
B) you are definitely going trade it regardless of the amount and
C) You are definitely going to remove all the wrap, etc anyway then
Remove the wrap now and send new photos to move things along more quickly.
If any of those things don't fit and you could possibly wind up keeping your car and dropping the deal, then waiting to hear their response first makes sense.

When this played out in my case, if they had said my value was going up only $100 then I would not have bothered to remove. Because they increased their offer $2100, I felt it was worth the hour or two to remove it all.

That’s exactly my reasoning for keeping it on.
What makes this deal make financial sense for me is improving to 0% form my expensive credit union loan. If that doesn’t happen, I’m probably going to stay in my current car.
I have considered just accepting the offer as is to move things along. I think I can live with that more than undoing my car and then finding out it was for nothing.
You know, put the ball entirely in Tesla’s court.
If I haven’t heard from them by the deadline, that’s what I’m probably going to do.
I do think it’s important for everything to be finalized by June 30th. Then the only thing they can blame is their own shipping

If you have another week before the car even arrives then there is no rush to get their revised offer. If the amount could possibly go up a couple thousand then why not wait?

Was just thinking I want to be able to say on July 1 , “look, I’ve done everything I needed to to meet your deadline , but you haven’t, you need to honor the 0%”.
No?
Accepting the offer is in my “to do” checklist

Tesla offered me 66 for my Awd on a new FS cyberbeast when I had 13k miles on mine. I traded in on a FS beast with 7k miles from a private seller and got 67k, plus the beast lost about as much in depreciation as my awd did. In my mind I upgraded for what it would have cost me new but got to drive for a year.

Mental gymnastics are my workout plan.

I understand what you mean. That does make sense. If a couple extra thousand is not going to sway you one way or the other, then I get your logic. Hopefully they will answer you tomorrow and you can accept.

So it kind of sounds like my offer is pretty solid even with the “damage”.

Mine was wrapped which is a plus to private buyers
I agree with that. I realize my design isn’t for everyone but it’s very high quality PPF done by someone who’s considered kind of an artist in my town.

Now to convince my wife...
Is there something she really wants to happen you ordinarily wouldn’t agree with?
Make that thing happen and then ask her to agree to this right after. ?
