So, as like most of you I sit here patiently waiting for my FSD upgrade. We hear news, get excited, but deep down know that Musk has a tendency to over-exaggerate release dates (putting it nicely). Recently, everyone is saying that our trucks FSD is on hold because they are hyper-focused on the robotaxis. But that seems odd since progress to the next FSD release should be so close. Something seems off. Then I read this today:
https://futurism.com/emails-tesla-california-robotaxis
I always just thought Musk was just talking like an excited child and just over-optimistic about timelines. That's just who he is. But this story, if true, the last paragraph is a bitter pill to swallow:
"In short, Musk and Tesla are talking a big game to investors and its wide-eyed fans about how amazing its Robotaxis will be — but its private groveling with regulators suggests that it's fibbing to at least one of those groups."
I hate to say it, but occam's razor... I think we've been had boys. Unsupervised seems like a pipe dream.
And since at least one person will undoubtedly say this is a troll post, I will half-agree because I love the truck but hate Tesla Service. So much that this truck, which is a leaps-and-bounds better than anything on the road, gives me a tinge of regret for ever even buying.
Long story short, got my brand new truck back from service (rear seat-belt error and to add a slat). It is a 2025 freshly wrapped CB with about 200 miles on it. They had it for 4 days (took them 1.5 days to even get around to it). Got it back, as expected, seat-belt error seems fixed and of course the bed probably leaks even worse now... but whatever. Problem? Fix 1 thing, break something else?
Not 1 or 2 things... literally 20 things broken, damaged, or improperly reinstalled!! WTF?!?! Thank God I took a ton of pictures and videos of both the interior/exterior when I dropped it off. It goes back next week with assurances (whatever that is worth) that only their lead tech will touch the truck and they will be responsible for any damage to my PPF that may occur on the next visit.
I was a Tesla Service Center virgin before this. My 2024 Cybertruck (AWD) was mint and never needed service. I knew to avoid service if possible, but what can you do about a seatbelt error that you can't resolve on your own? This was a nightmare and Tesla should be ashamed of themselves for hiring techs who clearly have no pride in their jobs. For F's sake, just give me the parts and I will do it myself!
Well stated. I love my Foundation AWD CT and have had no problems with it other than taking it in for normal recalls. I took think it wise for us not to take criticism of Tesla or Elon PERSONALLY. While we can ADMIRE some men and businesses ... lettuce knot ever slip into damn-near religious adoration of any man or company. Our companies, and made-made stuff ... and the humans that run/make them ... are subject to fuking up just the same as the humans called YOU AND ME.
