So, as like most of you I sit here patiently waiting for my FSD upgrade. We hear news, get excited, but deep down know that Musk has a tendency to over-exaggerate release dates (putting it nicely). Recently, everyone is saying that our trucks FSD is on hold because they are hyper-focused on the robotaxis. But that seems odd since progress to the next FSD release should be so close. Something seems off. Then I read this today:

https://futurism.com/emails-tesla-california-robotaxis

I always just thought Musk was just talking like an excited child and just over-optimistic about timelines. That's just who he is. But this story, if true, the last paragraph is a bitter pill to swallow:

"In short, Musk and Tesla are talking a big game to investors and its wide-eyed fans about how amazing its Robotaxis will be — but its private groveling with regulators suggests that it's fibbing to at least one of those groups."

I hate to say it, but occam's razor... I think we've been had boys. Unsupervised seems like a pipe dream.

And since at least one person will undoubtedly say this is a troll post, I will half-agree because I love the truck but hate Tesla Service. So much that this truck, which is a leaps-and-bounds better than anything on the road, gives me a tinge of regret for ever even buying.

Long story short, got my brand new truck back from service (rear seat-belt error and to add a slat). It is a 2025 freshly wrapped CB with about 200 miles on it. They had it for 4 days (took them 1.5 days to even get around to it). Got it back, as expected, seat-belt error seems fixed and of course the bed probably leaks even worse now... but whatever. Problem? Fix 1 thing, break something else?

Not 1 or 2 things... literally 20 things broken, damaged, or improperly reinstalled!! WTF?!?! Thank God I took a ton of pictures and videos of both the interior/exterior when I dropped it off. It goes back next week with assurances (whatever that is worth) that only their lead tech will touch the truck and they will be responsible for any damage to my PPF that may occur on the next visit.

I was a Tesla Service Center virgin before this. My 2024 Cybertruck (AWD) was mint and never needed service. I knew to avoid service if possible, but what can you do about a seatbelt error that you can't resolve on your own? This was a nightmare and Tesla should be ashamed of themselves for hiring techs who clearly have no pride in their jobs. For F's sake, just give me the parts and I will do it myself!

Well stated. I love my Foundation AWD CT and have had no problems with it other than taking it in for normal recalls. I took think it wise for us not to take criticism of Tesla or Elon PERSONALLY. While we can ADMIRE some men and businesses ... lettuce knot ever slip into damn-near religious adoration of any man or company. Our companies, and made-made stuff ... and the humans that run/make them ... are subject to fuking up just the same as the humans called YOU AND ME.

The service center here in Nebraska (iowa is where it actually is) has been great to me and my vehicles. Tire changes, wiper issue, missing slat, missing foam strip at top of bed, and buffing some scratches on front panel.

They also replaced my passenger side sail applique - which then flew off on the highway. Fortunately didn’t hit anyone behind me, so drove back into the SC. They apologized, gave me a loaner and fixed it the next day. Of course I would have preferred they got it right the first time, but it is what it is.

The mobile tech that has come by several times to my home for wheel swaps and fixing camera on MY has been great.

In my opinion it is not Tesla the company at fault as much the techs and their work integrity. I see this as an issue with our workforce in general. Doesn’t matter the industry, “good enough” and “not my problem” are becoming way to common.

I hope that a CyberSUV with 3 rows of seats is available by the time that FSD Unsupervised is widely available.

Who interviewed and hired those techs? Management.
Who is responsible for training those techs? Management.
Who is responsible for motivating those techs? Management.
Who supervises their work and gives feedback? Management.

Whose fault is it? The worker. 🤔

Not sure if the first guy is a troll, but they are surely piling on here. You can tell they don't own a Tesla. Can't speak for the rest of the world, but here in Manitoba, took my CT in because the front passenger window made a little bit of noise. Given a loaner. Came back in 3 hours. Fixed. No noise. Got a free drink. Glass is still half full. Trolls need to go back under the bridge.

There are good service centers and there are bad ones. If you had a not so good service move on to a different one. Like, anything in life, not all doctors, paramedics or firefighters are created equal. Some are outstanding while others not so. The certification one gets to work on a vehicle only means they know the very basics of that subject matter.

1. That linked article seems like an over exaggerated hit piece.
2. Sell all your Tesla stock if you don’t believe in FSD.
3. If you buy a first-run of anything, expect problems! I waited for a 2025 CT and it has had zero service issues 6mo in.
4. Stop whining, it’s not a good look.

I would include Management as part of the workforce, they just happen to do the least amount of direct work though.
My point isn’t that blue collar workers are better than white collar workers - or vice versa. It is that everyone needs to take some ownership of their work.

I don’t have a picture, it is what they diagnosed and fixed. I think others have posted with pictures though on this forum.

1. Maybe, but still raises interesting concerns. If you don’t see that, perhaps you are more biased.

2. Sounds like your investing skills are right up there with your being objective skillset

3. Swell for you, I owned BOTH a 2024 and 2025… 2025 had more issues.

4. Are we dating forum police guy? Ironically, you saying that makes you look like a snowflake.

This foam strip? I can see mine is messed up too (and a lot of trucks that were in the lot as well). I asked them to fix it while they added my extra slat. You can see if it is not laying in the slot correctly. They never touched it. I didn't press them because I planned on fixing it following that other contributes helpful youtube video.

That looks correct- mine still leaks after the fix, but not enough that I care anymore.

My October build 2024 AWD was bone dry from the factory. My 2025 CB leaks like crazy. If I pour a cup of water, half the cup goes in the front of the bed, and the other half goes in the bottom of the bed. Same thing after the extra slat.
