Tesla fixed it, but nothing like driving to the airport and seeing your Cantrail bending backwards while driving!

Thatās post-recall too⦠WTF?
They had not called me in for the recall yet, so they had to take care of it when this happened.Thatās post-recall too⦠WTF?
I certainly could be wrong, but the protruding studs in yours were leading me to assume they were the latest version. Iām not sure what the undersides of the original version looked like, but they were only held on with adhesive. When did you get the truck? They had not called me in for the recall yet, so they had to take care of it when this happened.
Picked it up in March 2024. I'm still not in love with how it sits.I certainly could be wrong, but the protruding studs in yours were leading me to assume they were the latest version. Oh so yeah those are definitely the old ones. Interesting. Didnāt know they looked like that on the underside.Picked it up in March 2024. I'm still not in love with how it sits.
Yes, there was always a nut, but the new ones revises the way that it attaches. I canāt recall the specifics but we had several discussions about it with some of our highly technical guys leading that discussion.Oh so yeah those are definitely the old ones. Interesting. You holding back because you donāt trust your SC? If so, I entirely get that. If āmyā SC, per the Tesla app, was my only option I wouldnāt have done it either. Fortunately I have 5 in my area and found one that actually cares about the quality of work they do. I took it to that one, although further away, and am quite happy with the results. They feel rock solid now. I could probably do a pull-up on them. I could wiggle them around before.Yes, there was always a nut, but the new ones revises the way that it attaches. All said, if youāre not going to get them replaced like me I think you better have it on a pretty regular pre-drive inspection checklist to make sure theyāre still holding steady.
Sure Tesla will replace them, but if you are sitting on a recall that you havenāt done or attempted to do and these fly off and hurt somebody, ā¦

Yeah, it was originally bolt to carrier bracket that then was glued to stainless. Now it's stud welded to stainless that passes through hole in the carrier bracket.Yes, there was always a nut, but the new ones revises the way that it attaches.
