Me neither but I just bought a pair and they are awesome. No offense intended to all the aftermarket people on here, but they are in a different league. High quality, well thought out, insanely easy to put on or remove in seconds, Securely locked, Beautifully shielded accessory tracks, able to be used with the little sail panel doors, completely idiot proof, collapse small enough to store conveniently.
In fact, I’m hard pressed to think of literally anything that could have been done even slightly better on them. They even come with brackets for all the positions and an awesome little torque wrench to keep you from fucking up the install.
For me, worth every penny. Wouldn’t even consider any aftermarket version. Even from the American aftermarket vendors we all know and love.
Sorry awesome sponsors…you know who you are. Great products but only as a value proposition. If you want the best, get the Tesla ones.

The ability to put any bar in any position seems important to me. As well as the easy to store aspect. Thanks for the feedback.

The aftermarket prices are quite tempting tho.

I occasionally get conned into trucking really long things around. I'll feel more comfortable with 4 bars on hand. Tho I see and admire the 2-only point of view.

Not that long ago ended hauling 6? 8? 24' 2x10s. Treated. (Deck project.)

Yakima HD Truck Rack plus an old round bar from a civic across the cab roof of a RAM 1500 proved quite capable.

Kayaks and paddleboards are things that might well end up on the CT for me. 3 crossbars might be the sweet spot.

When the crossbars are collapsed, could they be fastened to the front wall of the truck bed? (Not sorted yet, but I've been thinking on it.)

wow, it comes with a torque wrench? Nice...and, like you said, a good way to prevent someone from over torquing the bolts.

Well… its more of a plastic knob with a hex driver bit inserted that is engineered to slip at around 7 ft-lb… works well though. I wouldnt rely on it for precision torque. Its also not adjustable.

That’s correct but it’s basically one-time use because you can just leave the brackets on all the spots and close the doors over them.
Didn’t mean to mislead, just not sure what to call that other than a torque wrench.

Agree 100% - I bought a 3rd party set and while it technically worked, ultimately I bought the OEM set (at full price) and made another CT owner extremely happy for selling my 3rd party set at a significant discount. The OEM set are 100X better than anything else out there - especially since I need to frequently remove the back most one regularly to haul my mountain bike (removes / reinstalls in seconds, not minutes)

Yeah. I tried every other 3rd party option as well…..Tesla’s OEM crossbars are worth whatever they cost. The designed arch is much needed especially over the bed where they are extended a lot and the curve gives the bars support so you don’t get bending and sagging when going over bumps….
Every other brand I tried had no arch and they all sagged, some before even hitting bumps…

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T BUY THESE BARS FROM TESLAUNCH! I bought them and regretted it. They were too short to fit at the rearmost position unless the screws attaching the mounts to the bars were backed out an eight inch or so, leaving a gap between the mounts and the bars. Not great. Then I tried to move a bar from one position to another and stripped the threads of one of the blocks that install inside the applique just hand tightening the bolts! CHEAP CRAP!

I turned around and bought the $800 Tesla OEM bars. Much higher quality, easy to uninstall and reinstall. The bars from Teslaunch are definitely not designed for that.

Yeah aftermarket prices are tempting. So much that I tried 3 brands….some of them literally took 30 minutes to take on and off…..and then they all sagged and if you had a load on them you could see them bend as you hit every single bump in the road. Will save you a lot of time and grief. Get the tesla ones. Literally turn a key and they come off and the flaps go back down. They don’t sag or bend with bumps.

Does OEM Cross bar still make lots of wind noise?
