I know there was supposed to be a firmware update for PW3 to support power share. Has it happened yet? thanks

No.
Supposedly soon. It was supposed to be by Q3 but now is at some vague unspecified time this year.
Key point installation wise is just to make sure whatever wall connector you’re planning to use for PowerShare comes off the panel that is backed up by the powerwall.

Damn, Grok told me it had and told me the firmware number, and I told an installer this info as I was deciding on PW3 or the powershare gateway.

I believe grok is lying but there are certainly people on here who know much more than me about this.
Defer to them.

I bought the universal wall connecter specifically for power share so I'm good there. I just don't want to waste 4.5k on the gateway if a firmware update gets me the same thing on a PW3 with 13.5kWh battery along with it. That will help when the truck is not home. I live in FL so I worry about week long power outages when hurricanes hit. Only getting more frequent.

In my opinion getting the gateway at this point if you have a powerwall is not a good move.
If there is genuine concern between now and whenever “soon” is, I’d have them install a manual transfer switch and generator inlet somewhere and rely on the 240v outlet in the bed in an emergency.
Shit, for the money it would cost you to buy and install the gateway you could buy an Ecoflow delta pro ultra to use in an emergency and charge that off the truck. Then you can drive away to the nearest supercharger and not take power away from your house.

I don't have a power wall yet at this point. I'm at the hurry up and buy something stage before the 30% tax credit goes away at the end of the year. I am open to other options though. You haven't thought about doing the power share with yours?

The powerwalls are decent backup until the software update. Can always add more powerwalls or dc expansion packs. The system will work well, you’ll just have a much bigger battery once they allow you to add the truck into the mix.
For now, having solar will make charging your truck cheaper

Yes I'm getting quote on 11kw solar with the PW3 to see what i can do before year's end. And for how much. but having it work with power share would be icing on the cake.

If Tesla can't commit to getting it installed before the deadline, you can always order 3rd party and simply declare that you had it installed before years end ;)

Tesla Solar is quite inconsistent across the country on the speed of the process.

I suspect that will eventually be one of the primary uses of optimi. Let’s be real.

We've been waiting since the release of CT. The site used to say in 2024 and we heard soon, then late 2024, then 2025, now "later in 2025" is the text. Frustrating. We have seen a tiny indication that they may deliver it though as it lets those of us know with Powerwalls already that "PowerShare isn't available yet for Powerwalls" in the app in small text in the Home Info area.

Frustrated here as it was a key reason for getting the CT over other truck since it adds like ~8 powerwalls worth of potential storage to use in an outage situation. We have 21kW solar and 4x powerwall 2s, but its split across two 200 amp systems so we have 2 gateways with each 2 powerwalls, and strings split across them as well/balanced.

My key reason for changing from a Model Y to the Cybertruck was the power share potential. In FL hurricane power outages are a real thing, and the last few times we lost power it was for a week or a little more. Running the nonstop generator was a pain in the ass. I figured by now it all would have been ironed out. I don't want to get the gateway if it can be done with a powerwall and include a battery if I do need to go charge back up to keep the house running.

You guys that do have a powerwall, can you set it so it will only use down to 60% or 70% so it would pull from the cybertruck sooner? Also, do you think it will be able to charge the powerwall battery back up while powering the house from the truck? I know it's all hypothetical at this time since I guess the firmware is not out yet but what do you think?
