In that case, if Charge on Solar still isn't working with the updated location, one could have the installers disconnect the communication cable from the UWC to the Powershare Gateway and possibly the comm wires to the isolation switch, delete the Powershare group, and add the UWC to the crib group. That would put everything under the Powerwall group and prevent the Powershare Gateway from disconnecting.
Note, Powershare will not feed the house until after the new software is released.
Tested Charge on Solar Saturday 04/05: no change. And, as expected, it still works with my old JuiceBox. Continuing dialogue w/Tesla.

Thanks for the update!
I'm still of the mind that the PS Gateway communication lines will need disconnected and the UWC added to your main group.

Odd, I also have Solar + Powerwall + Gen 3 Wall Connector + Powershare showing enabled under Controls. It still only charges when there is enough “extra” solar production. Not a ton of solar today but it did a little.

Isn’t that exactly what it’s supposed to do? Only charge with “excess” solar you would otherwise sell back to the grid?l

Tesla responded: "I suggest reaching out to Car Charger specialist since they were your installers to check the location of your Powershare Equipment. I would then have them test your system for functionality. I put your Cybertruck VIN into our system and your Cybertruck is feature flagged to have Powershare."

I forwarded this note to Car Charger Specialists. Waiting for their response.

So are some Cybertrucks not “flagged to have PowerShare”? What does that mean?

Tesla needs to enable the Powershare feature on the Cybertruck for it to work. This used to happen after the installer let Tesla know the system was installed. Not sure if that is still the process flow or trucks are default enabled now.

Still not possible to have them do that with just a powerwall 3 and universal charger right?
everything on my app looks like it’s good to go except it still says , home not connected.
I understood this was because I was waiting for a software update to the powerwalls

Correct, that is not a supported configuration, yet. I expect it currently requires the hardwired communication with a Powershare Gateway 3V.
Powerwall will be via wifi link.

Update 09/30/25: In Jan 2025, I contracted w/Tesla to add more solar on my roof, which requires a 2nd inverter. We signed an agreement, booked a Tesla crew to start the install, they showed up, unloaded all the gear on my property, got up on the roof, attached their safety devices, then they knocked on my door and said, "we have a problem, we can't fix it, we'll get back to you", and left. And they left all of the solar panels and boxes of hardware.

After months of waiting and no communication w/Tesla, they finally said that my Powershare install was done against code and would have to be rewired. So, I had the third party installer come out and redo the Powershare install. I did not pay a dime for that, nor would I.

Tesla signs off on it, all the permitting is done, and I was waiting for Tesla to book time to complete the install of my new 7.36kW solar. This morning, Tesla messaged me saying, "Hey,
Sorry for the delay, Im not sure why its not showing on your account but you have an owners obligation. We need you to remove the existing Gateway 3V as it is not compatible with the new solar order. Once you get that removed you can send me a picture to show us its completed and I can get that uploaded and the get the messages to stop."

WTF? I mean, really. Double Yew Tee Eff? There's No Fucking Way I Paid $2500 for Powershare installation by a Tesla-recommended and certified installer just to have Tesla say, "Wait, no. Take that off. It's not compatible".

So, I called Tesla Powerwall Support NA, talked to Justin, who dug into this with me. He couldn't decipher why my Gateway 3V is incompatible with my new solar order.

Talked with my Project Advisor just now. He says that my Powershare installation is "incompatible with the new solar installation, and in order to install your new solar, Powershare must be removed".

That makes no sense.

Powershare can only have a maximum of 11.5kW AC of solar on the backed up side of the Gateway. Grid side has no restrictions.

That hasn't come up in any of our conversations.
