“Flex” are we 12?

I’m simply saying Tesla is known for cycling through incentives and people should wait for what works best for them. I truly don’t understand the complaints.
I truly don’t understand how you don’t understand the complaints; they’re being presented in plain, cogent, English.

What you MEAN is that you don’t agree with the complaints, it’s been noted. Each and every time the subject comes up.

But your agreement and approval aren’t required.

*Also, as a matter of basic business strategy Tesla should not want to “train” their customers to wait until the right incentive comes along. But, yes, that is the effect of their approach.

Elon has decided to disincentivize about half of his addressable market with his politics. Some less knowable portion will be dissuaded by these business decisions.

You can’t make everybody happy in business, nor should you try to. It’s a fool’s errand.

As an early adopter of most technological things, I get the short end of the financial stick all the time. Computers, drones, 3d printers, EV’s, solar panels, home batteries, cell phones have all gotten cheaper and better over the years. Have others gotten a better deal than me? Absolutely and I can’t be too upset about it because I know it’ll happen again! I like new waves of technology and it keeps me interested. It can certainly be a big bummer but if I just appreciate my extra time of enjoyment it kind of makes me feel better.

when I get Optimus and the next year it drops in price, I’ll have done it again.
Good luck to us all!

I just want my Optimus to sit by me in the cyber truck hold my Diet Coke tell me pre-recorded stupid jokes and make Optimus farts on command. I would like a 20% off coupon but I don’t think they’re going to be available. I’ve got an idea we will be waiting quite a while for the Optimus robot.hard I’m worried about getting a Coke at McDonald’s and Optimus holds it and squeezes the cup and the Coke goes all over me and he laughs about it.

I’ve had that very same dream.

This is correct. I too I am an early adopter of all things tech. I guarantee you I’m the only person you know who has two Apple Vision Pros, and owned both an OQO (none of you even know what that is or the obscene amount of money paid for that thing) and 8 pairs of Rayban Metas. My first CES was in 1987! There is literally no piece of tech of note that I wasn’t the first one anybody in my circle had first (and by a lot)— going back to the very first portable CD players in the late ‘80s. Drones and cameras and phones and Apple TVs and RTTs and magnetic wraps — oh my! I’ll compare my Kickstarter pledge page to anybody’s anytime, anywhere. How many of you have purchased bone conducting headphones? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The value of being an early adopter is having something first that nobody else has (and enjoying that technology before others are even aware that it exists) and there will always be better/cheaper tech that comes along later. That’s part of the deal. You pay for the privilege.

Here, we’re talking about an incentive that was on early Model Ss in the 2000-teens. We’re not talking about new tech, we’re talking about access to a service.

If you want an equivalent, it would be not letting me, as an early purchaser of the first iPhone, be able to load the App Store once it was introduced and only allowing those who bought iPhones later in time having access to it. The only pathway to get access being for me to sell my current phone, and buy a new one so that I could take advantage of this “incentive.”

Same phone mind you, just purchased later in time! THAT would be roughly equivalent. Do you see how stupid that sounds?

If past was prologue, I would expect Tesla to treat me like early Model S and Roadster purchasers who were given all kinds of concessions at the beginning and later including the ability to update computers and buy new better battery packs.

I think this thread is teaching me what anxiety is now I just had a vision. What is Elon‘s evil plan for full self drive is not the car driving itself, what if the true plan is we have to buy an Optimus and he drives the truck and he decides he doesn’t want to take us to McDonald’s. He prefers Burger King? This is a perfect marketing tool, you think your car is going to drive you while you play on your phone but no, it’s not. You’re going to have to buy an Optimus maybe not even buy it. Maybe they will only lease it to you and he has a preset selection now you have to pay to keep upgrading it to get it to do what you want. No longer will you be able to tell your wife your someplace You’re not because Optimus will squeal on you. What if optimist decides you’re putting on weight and wants to get a parking spot that’s further away to force you to walk I think that’s going to be the future of full self drive. It’s going to be named Optimus.

Looking forward to a beer next time you’re in town as I might be able to give you a run for your money! Mom worked at OQO before leaving for Spectra Physics and eventually Apple. You forgot about the Apple Newton, the first Polar/Garmin HR Monitor, and Motorola Star-Tac! lol 🤣🤣
PS. My entire family uses jawbone induction headsets. 😂

😲😲😲😲 NO WAY!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I also had a Samsung Q1! During the CES whatever year that was I got to meet the team behind OQO! It was such a cool time!

I was too poor to afford a Newton (I was in college then) but I wanted one so badly!!! I didn’t get to scratch that edge until a palm pilots came out. Then moved on from there to Psion!!!

Definitely had StarTac and several jobs but I did a Kickstarter for a company that made a wrap around the head from conducting headphone that was basically junk but that was one of my first Kickstarters.

Oh, and OUYA was my very first Kickstarter!
