I'm certain it's not an issue with my charger because it's able to pull 48A on my MX.

Anyone having the same issue?

On 2025.38.3.2 and have not seen an issue.

Can you show a sreenshot of your app when the truck is plugged in?

Also on 2025.38.3.2
When plugged in and not charging it shows 48A.
But when it starts to charge it drops to 24A.

Same software, mine is working ok. Are you able to reboot your charger or access the breaker to perform a hard restart? Is it a J-plug or a NACs connector? I've noticed when I use my J-plug to Nacs converter, it does cause some fluctuations in charging. Also, what brand charger are you using?
**Most importantly, are you load sharing?**

Weird it shows 24/24 that typically means the Wall Connector is set to 24A, but since the X still charges at 48A, it isn't .
You may have lost one of the two ACDC modules used for charging, that limits you to 24A.
Check service mode for alerts.
Can also do dual scroll wheel reset and Power Off to see if reboot helps.

Is this on a Universal Wall Charger or a High Powered Wall Connector?
I recently replaced my two Gen 2 HPWC for a Gen 3 and a UWC in anticipation for PowerShare.
The UWC was being very finicky about the CT (handshake/communication issues). But it charged the other cars without issue.
The solution was switching the setting to “Teslas only” in the App. Then resetting the charger by turning the breaker off for a few minutes. Maybe this would help your situation ? Good luck.

As someone noted earlier, it’s the PCS. I had the same issue and replacing the PCS fixed the problem.

I had the same problem and fixing it required replacement of the truck’s PCS (power conversion system). Hopefully you are still within the 50K warranty because it is not considered part of the battery. I was not.😢
Good note - I had the same issue the past week until today the truck stopped charging completely. Next available service appointment is in two weeks :(

how long did it take the to replace out the PCS?

In my case, the service center had one in stock because this is a common failure. They put me to the front of the line since they knew that I had a long trip out of town coming up. A bigger failure would strand me two states away. They had it fixed by the end of the following day. Kudos to the Raleigh Glenwood service center!

It's a lot of work though. The front half of the bed (where the compressor/air tank is located) has to come out to allow access to the top of the HV pack (formerly called the penthouse) where the PCS is housed. The coolant system has to be drained as well to make sure that no coolant leaks into the battery pack. My service tech referred to it as "open heart surgery." :)

What i want to know is whats causing the PCS to fail in so many trucks, and has the part been revised to prevent this failure from reoccurring?
My understanding is that if a part fails again that was replaced under warranty- it still falls under the same warranty claim from the original date of the claim, is this accurate?
One of my biggest concerns about long term CT ownership is what happens when parts fail outside of warranty? I had my PCS replaced and it’s not a little job.

Correct- PCS is considered part of the mid voltage system, not high voltage system- which makes no real sense because it converts the higher voltage system to 48 volts… so its technically part of both… but not covered under the hv system and drivetrain 8yr/150k warranty despite it being vital to the functioning of the vehicle.

Yeah. I agree that’s worrisome. I have heard a fair amount about PCS failure.
Anyone here had to replace this out of warranty? What did it cost?

This is more a general EV electronics problem; some portion of power conversion units fail. It's right where there's the most possible heat and so a minor solder or semiconductor failure and... It stops working right.

It's basically the same stuff as what's in a power supply for a laptop or PC - and is the most common failure points in those, too.

Just sucks when it's yours.
