I get this all the time.. I thought is was ‘normal’

most ‘supercharger’ stations I go to 72, 150 or 250) all give me this message at some point.

is it a charger station or truck issue or both?

perfect confusion for everyone.

Does your charging drop from above 240kW to 35kW?

If not, you’re not seeing the same issue. I know the message on your screen during charging is generic and likely appears when the site is relatively full.

The absolute lowest ‘drop’ I’ve seen was to 65kw… from 150ish 250-ish or whatever the initial charge rate was…

then gradually down as normal from 65 or whatever the low rate is..

can’t say I’ve ever dropped to 35, no…

You’re experiencing the normal charge curve that gradually slows when the SOC goes up.

This issue is when rate drops instantly from 250kW to 35kW. It doesn’t appear your truck has this issue.

I left my ct park at carnaval port plugged inio a 110 outlet at 69 percent and sentry turned on. Two days later im at 75 percent. It better the losing 6 percent per day. Hopefully after 6 days it reach 100 percent . . Slow charge is better than no charge.

Is the Cybertruck asking for more power than the V3 station can provide?

on 3 occasions charging at a low SOC I’ve experienced ramping up to 250kw, but then immediately get this message and drops down to 35kw for a couple of minutes before slowly ramping back up to 250 and then down to 35.

Is there a bug or problem with my truck? I recall seeing a video about this issue but can’t find it and don’t know if this has been resolved?

Do I need to go to a V4 or what?

I have been experiencing this same issue on several occasions, including once at home. Sounds like it's an issue with the truck, not the charging stations

This happens at high charge rate over 200kW. When you said at home, what’s happening?

Did you ever get this fixed?

I've been having the same problem, but there's no consistency. I thought I just had bad luck with charging stalls.

I recently did a 1,000-mile road trip and had problems with 1/3 stalls. I had to keep moving around. The error made it sound like it was a Supercharger (not truck) problem, but I spoke with other folks charging there, and none of them had these spikes (none were Cybertruck drivers, though).

Other times, I'd have no problem at all for the entire charging session (including one V3/250kW-max session that lasted 35 minutes).

I wonder if has to do with how much stress is on the connector, depending on how far from the charger I parked. I back in as far as I can go, but sometimes there's a trash can or something else in the way so the cable barely reached. I didn't keep track of those times, but maybe more stress on the connection caused a non-optimal connection.

Here's one of those times when I had spikes. The yellow line shows the power which ramped up to 230-256 kW and then suddenly dropped down to 34 kW (when it would show that "charge rate limited" message). Outdoor temperature was ~73F and it was in the shade.

That looks like a Supercharger overheat or hardware failure issue.
I'd expect a poor wand connection to either not work or gracefully reduce charge current due to heat.

I did not get it fixed. Service center says it’s related to the site being full, which several times I was the only car there and their other reasoning is about battery charge curves etc which is also bunk because I usually pull in at 5-10% SOC.

🤷🏻‍♂️

Are the pins in your port straight and free of oxidation/debris?
