Too Long? Don't Read.
Kidding. TLDR? Great first trip from Rural Maryland to Washington D.C. - 44 miles no touching the wheel until the very end.

Quick take.
1. Seatbelt, close door, press Start FSD (or whatever the blue button is) ... pulls straight out of my start and managed the driveway.
2. Easy left onto rural road.
3. T intersection where I'm the only one with a stop sign. There's a slightly blind curve to my right and Fluffy pulls forward and right as she gets accelerating, stopped. Car came around curve. She went then. Perfect. I'd have done the same.
4. Drove about 24 miles on divided rural highway. Crowded with traffic. Guess everyone else is coming back to work today. Anyway, started off going 60 for a long while in the 55. Then, she started keeping up with traffic. That's okay. It's the first drive. I would have sped up long before that but, it wasn't too bad.
5. Welcome to D.C. Everything was pretty much like I would have driven.
6. Onramping to highway, Fluffy pulled into the far right turn lane of two. Thing is, as soon as we join the highway, that lane merges left and THEN, I have to get over 2 more lanes to stay on the highway as the right two exit... So, you have cars trying to get right to exit and us trying to go left to stay on. She managed. It was a little later than I would have merged but all was well.
7. roundabout (taking first exit) was easy enough but right as we begin the turn out, a pedestrian who was walking with his back to us suddenly turned to walk across the road. He stopped after turning, of course. Fluffy stopped to let him cross.
8. Even though I now switched from NORMAL to SLOTH because this 25mph final half mile to the parking lot is HEAVILY monitored by several police cars who often run radar (or watch the radar speed limit sign. I've heard they've tagged people for VERY small infractions. Anyway, Sloth accelerated up to 27 mph before I intervened. Then, I reengaged sloth and it went right up to 25 and held that.
9. UNFORTUNATELY, Fluffy lost her damn mind when we reached the huge parking lot and added a bunch of routing to the trip as she drove past several entrances. I saw all the blue on the map and cancelled FSD at that point.

I'm not sure what happened at the end there. Maybe when I reengaged FSD, it thought I was at work and so it routed me home? I don't know. I didn't have time to scroll the map to see where she was heading.

Anyway, color me impressed. I NEVER thought she'd manage the Suitland Pkwy to I-695 exchange. But, she did.

Yesterday I had a 160 mile day, using V13 FSD. Since I'd been driving my wife's MY(with v14), I decided to only use profiles to controll max speed issues. Even with just 3 profiles, it was fine for getting the car to do what I wanted. So, if anyone is reluctant to upgrade to V14, I encourage you to try driving that way (side press the squrkle) for awhile.

And yeah, I'm downloading V14.1.7 now...

I got the email about this thread and looked in my app, and it was already downloaded. I'm installing it now, but I'm afraid I will regret updating because it probably still has Phantom breaking. Version 14.1.4 in my Model X will break for leaves blowing in the wind, shadows, or anything it thinks it sees.

So far 14.1.7 seems to have mostly fixed Phantom breaking. It does get a little skittish with leaves. The biggest problem is that it gets a lot of indecision that it never had before. It has a hard time deciding which lane to use when I need to enter a left turn lane. It will go back and forth. V14 added some nice features, but I would go back to V13 if I could. Hopefully, Tesla will iron out the problems soon.

I've driven in the District... "like I would have driven" is a very low bar lol

That's less about FSD and more about the mapping software; I've noticed it gets squirrelly when paths on the map are "unnamed". I've also seen FSD ignore the route and go a different way hahahaha

Honestly, I was thinking this too. Here is my experience while driving to my daughter’s school on the highway and switching the profiles.

Speed Limit — 60MPH

Sloth - 60 - mainly used this and can attest that it 100% will go the speed limit. Also does not mind switching lanes to pass someone going way under the limit.

Chill - 62
Standard -65
Hurry - 68

I didn’t use mad max but from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t care about the limit at all. lol.

I really thought I’d miss the adjustable speed too but honestly I’d rather fiddle with these profiles and understanding what they each do as opposed to messing around with the max speed. It’s very different from FSD 13. Much more confident and didn’t feel the need to adjust the speed at all.
Glad to hear this...I was hoping that there would be at least one profile that would just go the limit, and another that would be ~5 over, etc.

The drive in this morning was fine. 14 was being REALLY stubborn about lane changes I initiated though, more so than 13 was.

everyone bitching about FSD, try driving an ICE vehicle for a week. I set the cruise control and let go of the steering wheel. then i did it again a few minutes later. and again. Not to mention automatic lights, automatic wipers, auto shifting (not always the right direction), auto seat adjust, auto turn signals, auto friggin everything.

That exchange is brutal even when in total control of the vehicle, I’m going to have to try it with v14 now, but best believe I’ll be white knuckling that steering wheel though.

With FSD 14 has anyone recalibrated their cameras? I don't know if it is needed, but I read someone here talking about doing it with a major FSD release (12 to 13 to 14). Tesla says it only needs to be done if the windshield or cameras get touched.

I got 14.1.7 last night around 3:00 am CST. My Wife is out and about riding around. She said it struggled backing out of our garage down the narrow driveway/carport and she took over. Attached below is a picture of what it has to navigate to leave our house. In this photo the truck is parked in backwards, but this morning it was parked facing forward and requires backing out to the street. But other than that she said things are going well.

The only think I want with FSD 14 is for my Cybertruck to stay in the center of the lane. I don't ask for much.
