Any idea what the light bar would cost? I know going rate on eBay is $2500 but after market options are $500-$2000. Tesla, I'm my opinion usually comes in at a decent price. Like the under body skid plate. A lot of aftermarket companies are asking for $4500+ but Tesla has it for $3500 installed which messed up a lot of the aftermarket ones.

I think the part is $2300 or so

Oh man.. None of these steps were listed in the bulletin someone posted earlier. It involves drilling a hole to a specific depth only, masking and painting, etc... I can see this being a mess for the first batch of unlucky customers. .
There really isn’t anything I can think of up there to fuck up in a stock Cybertruck.

So wait, do they drill into the side of the lightbar too? How do those screws attach? Anyone know?

The baffling question I have is why TF didn't Tesla just design it this way to begin with?! Not having a mechanical mount point when you have perfectly good spots on the roof was just plain out foolish.
Probably the same person that thought double sided sticky tape on the cantrails was a good idea!

Looks like the screws just hold the side brackets in place so the lightbar has nowhere to move. In the future if the glue stops working the brackets still hold onto the lightbar and would be "floating" until you reglue it back down. But at the very least it won't fly off.

I don't know what's under that metal up there, but the bulletin says to use a depth stop on the drill bit, so there's something. Besides that overspray from paint everywhere.

I don't think so.. There's a plastic cover on the side of the light bar they remove and that metal attachment piece has a little lip that grabs on to the plastic it looks like.

Definitely don't need one badly. Wouldnlike to purchase directly from Tesla so they can do the proper install at the same time.

Did you just use Service Center and proper install in the same sentence?

Maybe someone already answered this question, but does this “recall” apply to everyone that already have one? Also, how do I go about getting it done?

Anyone thinking of doing this themselves. They make drill bit stops. they're like little bushings with a threaded grub screw in from the side. They come in a variety pack with different sizes. You pick one with a diameter slightly larger than your bit. You just slide it on and tighten it down at the correct distance. when the bit pops through the bushing stops the drill from going any further. You'd think the service bulletin would show that.
Isn't the side curtain airbag around there somewhere? That's why i haven't installed grab handles.
They didn't even put tape on the drill bit to mark it.

Apparently so; their protocol much like the Cantrail recall will post in service on your app when your turn comes up.
