New FSD how to set a speed

So i have updated the fsd but now cannot figure out how to determine the speed.

Also what do you do when the truck does not recognize the actual speed limit? So many times it is showing the speed limit of 40mph but it is 55mph

You can’t yet many of times mine wants to do 55 down the church driveway that’s posted 10 and there’s massive speed bumps. A max limit would be nice.

I generally drive 9 MPH over on the highway. Standard ticks me off and Hurry sets me up for a ticket (out Highway Patrol generally do not stop anyone going 9 over).

I've got news for you.

If you want FSD that will always go exactly 9 mph over, you are out of luck for the rest of your life. The technology adapts to existing conditions taking into account the weather, the traffic movements and placement around you in real time.

It's self-driving because you are no longer making the decisions. If you want to make the decisions you will need to drive it yourself.

Think of it this way: Actual autonomous driving will be many times safer than human drivers, in part because it's intelligent and doesn't base speeds and paths on personal preferences, but on what works. That means the technology actually has intelligence and it won't take kindly to backseat drivers, not anymore than you do. FSD is disrespecting backseat drivers more and more every iteration. At first it wanted all the help it could get, a little nudge of the accelerator telling it was OK to proceed, etc. But the more developed it becomes, the more it will tell you to stop trying to drive the car, it knows what it's doing.

That's why these things are being gradually removed, they are becoming more baked into the operation of the system, based on actual knowledge of risk present. If you want to drive, then drive the car yourself!

I've been on v14.1.4 for the last ~800 miles. In my area many of the speed limits shown in FSD are often wrong (sometimes as far off as showing 25 in a 65 mph zone or 55 in a 30mph zone) so FSD suddenly slows down massively due to the incorrect maps. Removing the max speed control is a bad idea and dangerous in this area. It's interesting that my Garmin GPS almost always has the correct speed limit listed. Maybe Tesla should use the Garmin maps as a backup to speed limit signs? We need the max speed control.

Mad Max will provide the highest speed above the speed limit. If you want to be closer to the speed limit scroll (right scroll wheel) down to the speed you are comfortable with. Roll up and down to suit the road situation.
