Glad to see the better pictures. I stand corrected. Looks like the Cybershock made by Bilstein and offered by Uplugged is not the same as this Cybershock unit. This one is a direct replacement, not just an add on. Wow. Look at those lovely red/rebound and blue/compression external adjustment knobs and huge piggy back. This is going to hurt my wallet. Serious upgrade. Thanks for the better pictures Urander.

No external adjustment.

Larger piston moves more fluid per amount of travel increasing shock response.

Finned body and ext reservior reduce fade.

The Zone control Rco Rebound (RCO) cut-off is said to allow more extension travel than OEM

Between the electronic valve size, increased piston diameter, a wider range of valving that stock.

Likely the electronic signal for full soft through full hard results in a wider range than the same signal applied to OEM due to hydraulics.

A moderate upgrade for hardcore users.

Fully rebuildable by Bilstien so if you wear out OEMs and wheel a lot, off roaders replacing out of warranty originals is the best use case.

Very impressive. If I blow a shock I know I won't be replacing it with OEM.

SO I ASKED GROK……

Yes, the stock shocks (more precisely, adaptive dampers) on the Tesla Cybertruck are manufactured by Bilstein. They are part of the truck's standard height-adjustable air suspension system, which integrates air springs with the dampers—often referred to as air struts or air shocks in parts listings and descriptions.

The Bilstein Cybershock is a supplementary high-speed damper upgrade designed specifically for the rear suspension of the Tesla Cybertruck, integrating as a piggyback-reservoir unit. It serves as an off-road enhancement that works alongside the vehicle's existing stock Bilstein semi-active dampers (which already provide electronically controlled, real-time adjustments to compression and rebound via solenoid valves).

Key advantages over the stock shocks include:
- Enhanced damping in high-speed off-road scenarios, such as rapid traversal over desert terrain with square edges, chatter, or uneven surfaces, where the factory dampers might hit mechanical limits and allow excessive movement.
- Better control of vehicle wag (side-to-side oscillation) and reduced under-damping during high-speed compression events, leading to improved overall stability and handling in rough conditions.
- Activation only in situations exceeding stock capabilities, without interfering with low-speed damping circuits or the electronic control system, preserving the Cybertruck's standard ride quality for everyday driving.
- Full retention of the truck's height-adjustable air suspension functionality, ensuring no loss in adaptive ride height or on-the-fly adjustments.

This upgrade is positioned as a bolt-on addition for enthusiasts seeking more aggressive off-road performance, though the stock setup is already considered highly capable for most users

OK, so it won't provide a noticeable difference on my trip to Walmart (or Costco)...got it... 👍

Larger piston also has a larger shock body to provide more dampening and control for higher speed movement. It provides more top end pressure into the shock body to prevent blow outs and seal failures. It doesn't increase "shock response". Not sure what that even means.

A pinned reservoir is just for extra fluid during alot of travel. A singular tube provides some oil movement to cool but not that much. And I highly doubt anyone in a cybertruck is doing extended whoops or baja pounding.
