Just saw this thread. I’m in LA and got mine beginning of year.
haven’t seen another one.
This sounds dumb and expensive - but would yall think some of the awd parts can just plug and play into the rwd model? Like the rear light bar or tonneau cover etc?

Rear light bar I think would fit. Hopefully the harness is there as well. The tonneau cover probably not.

The rear light bar probably will fit but may need custom wiring. Tonneau will be extensive. Here is the parts catalog to get idea of changes needed. Parts Catalog .

I love the RWD, sadly, had to part ways and traded in for an AWD this week.

I know this sounds ass backwards but I would probably garage queen that thing and buy another AWD for a daily... There can't be that many of those out in the wild. I thought I was buying something special when I bought a FS beast, this was back when they said they are only going to make 1k foundations. Anyone know how many of these actually made it out the door?
i have two 2024 Foundation Series Cyberbeasts, the Light Bar recall that is currently in effect, that is only available on the 2024 FS Cyberbeast, 6,197 units we produced.
ask grok

Even if you had a totaled donor truck, the part swaps would be significant work. And, the software knows that it's a RWD trim, and might not even acknowledge AWD features if installed.

It would probably be easier to un-total the AWD by using the RWD as a donor lol

I guess this is basically what the new AWD 60k version will look like.

I like the seats.

Looks like it still has the USB ports in the back so that's good.

Is that the light strip around the dash? Hard to tell if it is or if it's a sticker.

The 18s look better than I thought but the wheel covers look dorky to me. Wonder if there will be an alternative wheel cover.

Yes, the new dual motor AWD model is RWD model with the added front motor and power tonneau. I liked the interior with the textile seats and fabric liner more than my new "premium" AWD.

RWD has the same ambient light around the interior as upper trims.

I like the 18s better also. No covers to deal, easy to clean, and cheaper tires to replace.

Based on only limited 10 days availability, I think Tesla is just liquidating the excess RWD drive parts inventory.

What's better about the Interior of the non-AWD for you?

I like the textile seats. Lighter grey color adds different contrast than just black vegan leather (not real leather). Neutral temperature in very hot or cold days. Durable and easier to clean. Won't wrinkle after time.

Fabric liner to me still looks premium and visually cleaner. More durable feeling. The alcantara in my new premium AWD looks always "messy".

Rear vents. No need for rear display. Also, it does not stick out therefore create more leg room for center passenger or long cargo that may run into the intruding display. The display is too low, just hurt passengers neck watching it.

No flip down rear center arm rest cup holder. Simpler design.

Black pedals and door sill. More sporty look in my opinion. Usually the "sports" trims in other cars are all blacked out. For 2026 premium, no longer have the silver pedals, so happy for me.

oh interesting I didn't know they got rid of the silver pedals that's an improvement.

There's at least one other thing: the new AWD has bed outlets, which the RWD lacks.

Everyone is compiling the differences between the new AWD and the old AWD. But it seems like a much shorter list of differences if you compare the new AWD and the RWD.

How was the audio in the RWD compared to the premium audio system in the AWD? Im assuming the RWD did not come with the 2x 8" rear subwoofers and will have the same setup as the dual motor they just released.

I orginally ordered the Premium AWD but once they released the dual motor, i changed my order over. I really enjoyed the premium audio when i test drove the premium AWD and is the 2nd biggest factor besides the air suspension.
