New $60k version should help bump numbers, which is a very good thing.

Q1 will be decent now. Not huge, but it'll get a few thousand bump by those who've wanted one but couldn't afford. Long term this won't translate to much. People either hate the style, don't hate it but don't want to be judged by their neighbor/spouse/whoever, or don't realize there's a cheaper model out there now.

Actually, the new trim probably won't affect Q1 at all. Tesla technically reports "deliveries", not "sales". And if you place an order for the new trim now, the Order Page says to expect delivery in June.

So there won't be any deliveries in Q1, and probably only a limited number in Q2. We'll probably have to wait until Q3 to see the full impact that the new trim has on the numbers.

Good catch, I didn't scroll down that far.

I think there are a lot of people that the difference between an $80k truck and a $60k truck is a BIG difference.

Agreed, the price difference is big (assuming it holds after 10 days...) but there's a lot of stigma against the brand and specific design.

The design and brand stigma is often a way of coping for people that couldn't afford it.
[looks at bank account "thing is ugly i didn't want it anyway"]
But I think that will change as 60k is VERY affordable for what you get vs other trucks at 60k

The question is, what happens after 10 days??????

Agreed, “Price”’, “Price”, “Price”!

Don’t know how many Apple users are out there, if Apple have doubled or tripled the starting $499 price of the original iPhone, Apple wouldn’t be what it is today.

I agree with Elon the cyber truck very well could be the downfall of Tesla.

“Price”’, “Price”, “Price”!

Because $59,990 deliveries won't start until June I am expecting a big jump in delivery numbers for Q3.

It looks like the price will increase. Seems the consensus will be 69k.
Either that -- or else the trim is discontinued. Maybe it was a limited run to use up extra parts that were originally ordered for RWD production (like cloth seats and coil springs). Like a clearance sale.

We'll find out soon enough.

Some manager at the factory probably said hey we got all these extra parts taking up space what do we do? Eventually got back to Elon and he probably said just use them. Then they invented this new trim.

I don't know anything about auto manufacturing but I'm assuming since these are only usable on a Cybertruck the other option is to send them to the garbage. Not sure if that's something they can write off. Maybe they figured selling them would be better.

If that's the case then I'm super grateful it happened lol
