I was debating ordering a what now is called "Premium" Cybertruck in the next few months. I test drove one again last month. I was an original, but my Model S was under water plus I decided to wait out all the issues and the Market. I got crushed on my model S for being impatient and didn't want to go through that again.

This model is really tempting me, here is what I consider the value of the items missing, am I missing anything?

Wheels- $2500 (Already and option to get them, but I would likely get take-offs or even better aftermarket to make my truck unique. I prefer the extra sidewall on a truck so I would likely prefer 18" wheels)
Seats- $2000 (I have read from some the Cloth/textile are actually better, but the most I would pay for the fake leather is $2000)
Back Screen- $500 (I have it in my S and the only thing we have ever used it for is adjusting the temperature)
Vault Bed- $1500 (I am still not 100% of all the differences here, but the under-storage would be cool, but not needed. The Rail/track system I have had in multiple Ram trucks and never used it one time)
Ventilated Front Seats- $500 (I have read they do not work well, with cloth you really do not need them. That said I do use mine now and I would easily pay $500 for them)
Heated Rear Seats- $500 (Do not really care, but just put $500, my kids do use mine now in the S and Y)
Stereo- $2000 (This is something I would pay extra for if they offered it, but aftermarket if needed can solve this)
Tail-light Bar- $1000 (Seems like a lot, but I like this feature)
2 interior 120v outlets- $500 (We have them in cars today and have never used them, we use USB, but not outlets)
Air Suspension- $3000 (I have had air suspension on many Cars/SUV's/Trucks, it is a nice ride, but i never actually adjust it. I put it in one setting eventually and just leave it. That said I know I would like the entry mode it does automatically)

I feel those are all generous amounts and it still only gets to $14K

2 Questions
1- Am I missing anything?
2- Why buy the premium right now?
Wheels and tires those are the easiest things to change. So I don't even look at that. Yeah it will cost more to get the ones you want but not 20k more. I would probably just drive it with the 18s until those wore out and then put the Cyberwheels on it.

Since not many of us have actually been in the RWD stripped version it's hard to say about the stereo. 7 speakers still seems good enough to me.

I think I like the look of the textile seats better than the fake leather but I do wish they had a little ventilation. Florida is tough in the summer and the seats get hot.

The back screen I never use. The under storage in the bed I never use. I usually have things in the bed on top of that.

Things it has that I use the most are the powered tonneau cover, auto frunk, and FSD but with subscription only.

I think it's a great deal hard to pass up.

For me the prices has never been an issue: the 500 miles range was the major hold up. This version is nice but I wish they give customer the choices to choose, I would be happy to pay more for more range.

Things I wish they kept: ventilated seats, towing capacity, and tunnel cover.

500 miles is a must. Other brand are able to get past 450, why can’t Tesla offer that, I know Elon keep saying it’s not necessary, but why not let the buyer choose.

November 22, 2019 reservation holder here. I placed my $59,990 order as soon as I read the news. I had to read the MSRP and specifications 2X to make sure I wasn’t dreaming as I had just woken up.

My gut told me that a lower priced CT trim would be coming in 2026 and it was right on the money.

I also received the $1k sales incentive bringing the price down to $58,990.

Being patient finally paid off. Cybertruck sales are about to skyrocket thanks to this new price point.

The only negative is that the website says June availability. It going to be a long 4-months.

He finally did it 🥳🎉

The "ventilated seats" are nonexistent in the current CT, a few people have gotten lucky but mine and many others are basically zero. Don't think they are like a M3 or MY which are like lvl 9, CT on max is like a lvl 2 hard to tell it is on, especially in FL summers.

Ventilated seats currently don't really exist in any model CT
At least not compared to M3 and MY

500 range would be nice...

If the brand new AWD trim doesn’t help boost Cybertruck sales only one thing could be holding back orders. The controversial CEO.

The new $59,990 CT has everything you want and nothing you don’t.
dont agree

there is no mass market for an ev pickup
Silverado EV failed with 440 range
Lightning failed
R1T failed

no large EV pickup market, 250K+ sales per year
Time well tell for eREV

we don’t know when that group of 1M good old boy legacy pickup buyers will be interested

I love our Cybertruck
Best ever vehicle bought
I’m not one of the good old boys

it’s not so much that the 450mi range failed than it is that it’s $10-20k more for the models with that option. That limits the pool of buyers.

The 450mi range is the baseline for traditional consumer ICE truck replacements. The catch is it needs to be priced same as the ICE truck. If the CT AWD currently advertised for $60k had 450mi range, I’d imagine a lot of buyers come off the sidelines.

Having said that, design is still a major sticking point for many. I need the range so my only option is GM, but have been trying to convince my wife who doesn’t, that I should get her a CT. She flat out refuses, and design has a lot to do with it.

I think once CT sunsets, everyone will look back and agree it sold poorly because of the design. Not the price, not the range, not the CEO. The design. Everyone on this site loves it. Millions of people saw it at launch and loved it enough to put a deposit down. At the end of the day though, much of the decision when buying a vehicle comes down to design, and people tend to stick with what's familiar and safe. They might like the idea of a unique looking truck out there, but decide they don't want to be that type of truck guy or gal. Those of us here are a different breed, but maybe too small to keep the line afloat much longer.

Internal sales figures, as well as click through and other early signs they're surely tracking, will tell Tesla is there's any chance left or if it will go the way of S and X.

I hope I'm wrong but that's the way I'm reading it now.
