Rented a CT for 5 days in December while a Tesla was getting body work.

The rear "vault" trunk was so dusty, I would not use it for any bags I would normally put there. Maybe the ex-wife's wedding dress?
Yea the "Vault" does not keep out dust or WATER
A few of the very new ones the seals are better, or in place, but of the first 40k trucks or so the back vault is about like a standard truck bed with an old tarp over it.

Or the P in MYP stands for profit. It is $8.5k more than premium Y AWD which is profitable on its own.
CT is $2.5k more than the MYP so $11k more than a premium Y AWD.
The PCS which provides Powershare is the same price as the version in the Y.
Tonneau system is ~$5k retail.
I guess we can only speculate. I don't personally think that any battery breakthrough or thick profit margin is going to give CT even remotely comparable production costs to MY when Cybertruck is 2000 lbs. heavier, 3 ft longer, has four-wheel steering and SBW, 240V V2L, huge rubber and transparencies, and power frunk and tonneau. Hence, I think they are losing their ass on these or possibly selling them at cost. It's basically an advertising campaign, which is why it's limited time only.

Just went and saw one again at the show room. They are sick, but man, they are yuge.

Yah, it has tech and mass, resulting in the only Tesla yuge enough for me to be comfy in 😉

If you compare any pick up truck to a small crossover, of course it’s going to seem huge. But as previously stated, it is shorter than almost every 1/2 ton truck out there, including my Ram 1500, which is why it fits in the garage but the Ram does not. It also has a longer 6 ft bed. I credit Tesla engineering for accomplishing that. I understand that there is a market for smaller pick up trucks, but this thing is by no means huge. It’s actually small when comparing to 3/4 and one ton trucks and even to large SUVs like the suburban, Escalade, or Yukon .

After doing a double A-B comparison, my wife and I looked at each other and for $40K less than the Gravity the AWD CT was a no-brainer. Now I wish the CT had the Lucid Gravity seats, those were amazing!
Agree - those Lucid seats are amazing.

Alright @Mini2nut you won. You patiently waited for this exact thing. We admit it, you’re smarter than us. Now join us already.
Placed my order this morning!!! I’ll finally be joining the CT club.

I am a very patient person by nature but this 5.5 year wait was the ultimate test. I basically gave up on CT ownership after the $70k RWD offering last year.

Delivery is not until June so ordering now you still have time to get some money ready or decide to buy if not then you eat $250.

I assume this will have all the latest parts like newer PCS etc.
Ah-Ha! ... that's how their getting rid of all of those old PSC modules.

I was debating ordering a what now is called "Premium" Cybertruck in the next few months. I test drove one again last month. I was an original, but my Model S was under water plus I decided to wait out all the issues and the Market. I got crushed on my model S for being impatient and didn't want to go through that again.

This model is really tempting me, here is what I consider the value of the items missing, am I missing anything?

Wheels- $2500 (Already and option to get them, but I would likely get take-offs or even better aftermarket to make my truck unique. I prefer the extra sidewall on a truck so I would likely prefer 18" wheels)
Seats- $2000 (I have read from some the Cloth/textile are actually better, but the most I would pay for the fake leather is $2000)
Back Screen- $500 (I have it in my S and the only thing we have ever used it for is adjusting the temperature)
Vault Bed- $1500 (I am still not 100% of all the differences here, but the under-storage would be cool, but not needed. The Rail/track system I have had in multiple Ram trucks and never used it one time)
Ventilated Front Seats- $500 (I have read they do not work well, with cloth you really do not need them. That said I do use mine now and I would easily pay $500 for them)
Heated Rear Seats- $500 (Do not really care, but just put $500, my kids do use mine now in the S and Y)
Stereo- $2000 (This is something I would pay extra for if they offered it, but aftermarket if needed can solve this)
Tail-light Bar- $1000 (Seems like a lot, but I like this feature)
2 interior 120v outlets- $500 (We have them in cars today and have never used them, we use USB, but not outlets)
Air Suspension- $3000 (I have had air suspension on many Cars/SUV's/Trucks, it is a nice ride, but i never actually adjust it. I put it in one setting eventually and just leave it. That said I know I would like the entry mode it does automatically)

I feel those are all generous amounts and it still only gets to $14K

2 Questions
1- Am I missing anything?
2- Why buy the premium right now?

Based on your analysis and sentiment, the basic model is exactly what you need. A lot of your reasoning on individual items says you don't want it. You missed towing but if you didn't mention it's likely you don't need it. Order soon!

Maybe yours but not mine. My vin is just under 10K and I get small amounts of water at the tonneaux/tailgate interface but really none elsewhere in the bed. So its not bone dry but it is acceptable.
