I just spent the day prepping my oversized (they called it a 2 1/2 car) garage for the Cybertruck that arrives next week. The garage is wide but normal depth (21 ft). Both my wife and I park in the garage and share a Tesla Wall charger. We also have two 120V travel chargers permanently installed for slow charging our cars which are my wife's 2024 Model 3 and my 2025 Model Y. The Y is being traded in for the Cybertruck. While width in garage is no problem, I only have 3 ft total extra space lengthwise to work with once the Cybertruck moves in. I'm interested in what it's like keeping a large vehicle like the Cybertruck in a garage.

I also have a large empty RV parking pad on the garage side of the house with a powered gate and that is my second option. I'd need an extension cord to reach the Cybertruck's charge port or, install another Wall Charger on the outside wall. I'm getting the Cybertruck wrapped (PPF) and I really prefer to keep it garaged. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I have a pretty standard two car garage and it fits with enough room at the front to walk around and access the charger plus some fridges and whatnot. It’s definitely a bit tight but definitely workable. At first it seemed it’s jut never going to work but we got used to it pretty quickly and now it doesn’t interfere at all with us getting around in the garage.

The rear bumper stays just a few inches from the door closing. I ended up getting some of those garage door hinge rollers just in case it ever touches the bumper. Also bought one of those parking lasers on Amazon that replace the tennis ball to know exactly when to stop for seamless parking every time. Park it in the garage, it’s totally doable, and there’s nothing like seeing a spaceship parked in there.

I have 4-5 feet of space when pulling in, the issue is, you need to use the front camera, to make sure you don't pull in too far and hit anything, then switch to the rear camera to make sure you are far enough in so the garage door will close.. you have to do this every time, as you will never be able to tell exactly.. it works fine, and I have been doing it since August 12th of 2025.

Another way is with a small laser parking assist, mounted to the ceiling, once your in position, you aim it at a specific spot on the dashboard, that you can see.. you then use this as a stop, to make it repeatble.. I found the cameras easier

Solution is bigger garage. 5 car. 10 foot doors and four feet in front and behind each vehicle.

You would be fine with ^ or with what you have now. Good luck 🍀.

Thanks for the reply's. I did a search on garage parking and got nothing before starting this Thread. Once posted, several older threads from 2024 showed up. In any case, all our kids are out of the house (amazing, right?) so the garage only has a wall of cabinets on the opposite side of the CT, plus my ever changing collection of ebikes to deal with.

I have finagled a way for this to work but I sure miss the old Tesla radar sensors on the bumper(s) giving a readout in inches. Cameras will work I suppose but @ 74, my vision and reaction times aren't what they used to be. It'll probably take me 10 minutes to get it in the garage the first few times then get much easier. I told the wife the garage was no problem so asking her to be a spotter won't be happening ;) . I find that maintaining the illusion of complete competence gets more difficult every year.Thank god for FSD.:)

I've got a fairly similar setup from the sound of it. I cleaned out the 1/2 side of the garage and just park it at an angle. I could fit straight back, but I like to have a bit of extra room to get in and out and to drop the tailgate when coming from a Costco run.

IMO, your biggest issue is using 120v wall connector. Sounds like it works for now, but if you do any sort of regular driving, you are going to find yourself stopping at a supercharger at least once or twice a week to top off. The CT will only charge maybe 7% if left to charge overnight. That's after about 10-12 hours. I'd really consider getting a wall connector or upgrading to 240v.

I just use the front bumper camera to judge one to two feet in front of the back wall. Since it gives a great view of the floor as well as the wall. The CT does scream a lot about me getting too close, but I'm OK with it being overly cautious.

To me this is the obvious solution. Tear it down. Build another. Simple ;)

That back wall clearance may get annoying overtime, particularly if you visit Home Depot or Costco. Also be be careful with releasing the tailgate in the app. I have the opposite problem and have a tandem garage.

IMO That car port outside sounds ideal if there would be a way to cover it.
Also that CT battery is deep bucket, may have difficulty if you drive over 40miles a day. May have to spring for 240

Get it to the perfect position, I have less than an inch from the garage door when it closes. Then place a piece of tape on the ground where the front camera sees it just in frame(Make sure when you place the tape, the truck is at the ride height you'll be at parking, the camera position will change quite a bit as it lowers to entry mode.) Then when you back in, and see the tape, you'll know you can safely close the door, with max room behind it.

Actually I have a Wall Connector (240v) but my wife & I use the standard travel chargers for our current vehicles. The Cybertruck will be getting the 240v as I avoid Superchargers except when needed for road trips. I live in Tesla Land so SUperchargers are plentiful and always available. I even have two service centers near me 10 and 30 minutes away respectively so Tesla ownership is easy. The Wall Charger is on the back wall of the garage and so backing in is the best option. I really should have no issues but being a bit OCD and in a long ago past life built houses/boats, measure twice, cut once is my SOP. :censored:

I got 6 foot and 2 foot rubber parking curbs. They stay in place without actuality drilling them in and give enough of a bump to know you're in the right spot.
