Price increased by 10k on the new trim. The other trims remained the same.

Side note: They removed the ability to lease the new trim, at least for now. From experience, it doesn’t matter what you saw when you ordered or what it said. At the end, you paid $250 to secure the price of the vehicle, not any terms. Those will be “official” once you submit your credit app and lock in whatever terms they have at the time for lease and financing.

Pricing makes sense but the thrill isn't there at 69k. This should slow sales down. Worth it to just go to 79k and get the better options at Premium.
Agreed. For an extra 10k it's better to jump into the premium trim. If the 69k price point remains on the base trim, those that purchased at 59k should see some positive equity when selling lol

For us legacy CT buyers this makes sense. This issue is expanding the CT market to new buyers. I don't see that happening at $70k and I definitely don't see these pricing shenanigans magically increasing demand for the $80k trim.

Tesla saw the lever to increase sales is drop the price to $60k. They then raised the price. This seems to indicate one thing, they aren't making money at $60k. They have capacity to make the trucks, and they are chosing not to. I think the forum was on to something saying Tesla needed to move RWD parts stock. Breaking even-ish is better than having a warehouse full of coils at a loss. Plus this expands the FSD testing fleet. It seems like making money on the truck happens closer to $70k, even on the stripped down trim.

this makes sense….hopefully they can get the 70k price down. Although I suspect they will have in stock inventory once they catch up with the 60k orders and then they typically do discount in stock inventory based on supply/demand (mine Was $4500 off last year and my brother bought a model y a few years back for an even bigger discount)

Nope, $3,320 retail

1,690 2x front coils
1,630 2x rear coils

And all of this is retail pricing…..I suspect it is a net 2-3k difference with the rear screen and air suspension…..maybe as much as 5k with all changes from the 2 trims…..not that this is any different than other manufacturers……a platinum F150 that is 30-40k more than an STX likely only costs 5-10k different to manufacture

Called it.

I wonder if Elon will restrict resale of the 59k buyers, given they are price sensitive might be motivated to on paper, make 10k as soon as delivery day.

The temporary $60k was most likely to reduce RWD parts inventory and also gesture to abandoned RWD owners opportunity to trade in with minimal loss. I got 60k trade-in on my RWD when traded to the AWD "premium", so this would been near even trade if was announced before I had ordered. However, actually glad it didn't since transferring FSD would not have worked out.

$70k is still reasonable for the unique Cybertruck. While some say it is "just" $10k less than premium, $10k is still $10k to most people, while It gives option for people that do not want air suspension, leather, rear screen, or premium audio. Not as in value in features but in terms of low maintenance and simplicity. I know, I would have, because I am one of few to bought the RWD.

See I don't know about this one either and I don't trust it. A lot of us put our money down when it was $69k for a Beast didn't seem to secure much. Also, even though I have no skin in this game, I think Tesla needs to make good on their order by March for FSD transfer offer. Their whole thing was you get what you get when you order it - some people missed out on Luxe, some free Supercharging, etc... It was based on the current offer at the time, changing it after the fact is just bad business.

It makes complete sense. Personally I think it should have been a $5K increase, but why do that when you’re already over a year out on reservations. Smart play IMO. At $70K I would just get the Premium, but that plays right into what they want right now. Premiums aren’t available on any lots so they are already selling.
