Hi.

just a question if others have seen this same warning: FSD might be degraded “poor weather detected”

Tesla Cybertruck FSD “may be” degraded? IMG_0557

This was while driving in a very light drizzle, auto wipers where hardly whipping.

I have seen this a few times before, in similar hardly bad weather driving. Not sure what happens when the weather get really bad. I do not recall seeing that same warning at those few times there was real rain? I live in Bay Area, California, so very sporadically we have “real” bad weather.

Is it me, is it my truck, is it my cameras or windshield not clean? Or just FSD/Tesla giving a cover their ass message?

My current issue is similar. I get FSD degraded side pillar. I stop. A little mist inside the pillar. Only on temp change days with condensation.. Tesla replaced one pair after they did the cantrail replacement. Now it is back again. Part of FSD is that in bad weather you might have to take over. I had it one time with sand and dust like crazy in the air.

It means it has limited visibility in one or more cameras. Sometimes more rain is better than less as less likely to leave droplets on camera.

Best to ceramic coat all cameras the day you get it. helps a ton.

I see that frequently; usually glare related.

I usually don't, however, I'd like to point this out - that FSD can 'disengage' of it's own, depending on conditions. 1 year ago FSD would disengaged on the same fwy overpass on my commute.

On this forum, others have been quite adamant that it 'Does not happen' that FSD only disengages when you touch the steering, FSD button or pedals.

I and others expect FSD to be able to evaluate its own operation and reliability to determine when it cannot reliably function and revert control back to the operator.

Wow, lucky you California not much like Michigan, I get those alerts pretty much everytime it rains (alot).

The "challenging" part is when it limits speed to 70mph - sometime 65mph in heavy rain....I just sit back and let it do it's thing - safely - safety first!

Mine shows the message usually for rear camera in rain when roads dirty but still uses FSD Just at a slower speed.

I ran into this for the first time the other day. It was one of those wild temp swings days and the camera was covered by condensation on the inside. I figured it would clear up, especially since those cameras are heated, but it didn't clear up until much later in the day.

Just a quick response. Thank you everyone for the replies. It seems to be a much more common warning than I was expecting it to be, given the even worse weather in other states. so nothing wrong my my CT or FSD. For me it never “escalated” from a warning to a “have to take over” event, so I can live with it.
