FSD…..A VERY DANGEROUS SETTING THAT NEED TO BE CORRECTED.

I just finished driving a 1,000 miles on FSD straight through because of a death in my family. I will start with the fact that I love to use FSD. I use it over 90% of the time. As we all know on the interstate with the speed limit is 75 miles an hour everyone is doing over 85. FST has a limit of 85 miles an hour. The problem occurs when you’re bunched up in traffic everybody doing 85 in FSD, if you increase the speed by even a couple miles, to get out of the bunched up traffic, FSD goes crazy and emergency disconnects at the worst time. You have blaring red steering wheel on the screen screaming at you, can be somewhat discombobulated and DISSCONNECTED STEERING is dangerous at that speed. All that needs to happen is a warning to slow down…you are exceeding FSD OPERATING RANGE. No dangerous disconnect steering disconnec t is needed.

I HAVE NOW BEEN BARRED FROM USING FSD FOR A WEEK FOR PUSHING THE LIMIT TOO MANY TIMES AND LOOKING AT THE MAP ON THE SCREEN AND LOOKING FOR THE CLOSEST CHARGING STATION.

It's a limitation of the camera only system. The max speed was 80 mph for a long time after they disabled radar (it was 90 mph with radar).

Scroll down to a lower profile and let you vehicle get over.

You pushed through the safe operating limits of FSD. It gives you a warning first, then you get a strike. If you have been barred for a week, you have 5 strikes. Sounds like you constantly break the rules.

There is no dangerous disconnect. The car will keep beeping until one takes over.

Eventually the car will slow down, and as you guessed the flashers are on with big red thing saying you screwed the pooch. It will stop in the lane, and when the cops show up they will say. Is that you in there Tiger? After all you are from Florida John.

This is because you have been naughty. If just words were used no one would pay attention. So Tesla screams at you like a mother chasing you with a wooden paddle.

You missed the point. If the idea is safety ….it isn’t safe to disconnect the FSD at 85 mph with a loud blaring horn and a blinking red screen with a car next to you and one on your ass.….BREAKING FSD RULES OR NOT.

John,

WE GET THE POINT! Calling caps lock police 🚓🚨 on your bootie cheeks.

It doesn't disconnect FSD. You do. If you don't the car stops. Can't get much safer. Imagine you stroked out. Car will stop vs. hitting a median barrier.

Brother, I don't know what the complaint is here. FSD clearly doesn't want you to keep goosing the accelerator espeically in high congestion traffic.

You are basically removing critical controls from a system whose number 1 goal is safety. Obviously you didn't get the memo if you got so many strikes that you were locked out.

Set the most appropriate speed profile for your surrounding context, and let the computer do the drivig lol

I think you missed the point.

The system cannot handle those speeds safely. You pushed passed the warnings and it shut down.

Turn off FSD if you want to go faster...or let it get over into a slower lane.

You obviously don't understand this as you've had 5 of these instances.

Simple solution, just let it do the 85 or disconnect FSD and manually drive the 86+. Then it doesn’t yell at you for exceeding when it’s turned off. At any speed if FSD is engaged and you press the go pedal FSD will yell at you and flash the screen and give you a strike. So just turn it off take over get back to a safe speed and turn it back on.

It only goes up to “Mad Max,” Bud. If you want to go full “Furiosa,” you have to disengage FSD and do it yourself.

Stupid question, why do you have to drive 85 when others are? Aren’t there multiple lanes?

You obviously haven’t driven lately on our Interstate Highways. I just finished 18 hours straight coming and going. If you set FSD on MadMax, you quickly become a target for other drivers either tailing your ass or trying to pass the Cyber Truck as it set itself on 85 mph. I find it safer to bump the speed periodically to get ahead of the bunching up and what becomes an unsafe situation. The same way you drive a motorcycle if you want to stay alive.
