I was told the same with my PSC failure - they said 3-5 days to *possibly* get the PSC - then they had it in about 1 day and I had my CT back in 4 days.

This the general problem with speaking words - than thoughts. They should keep to accurate -information - not gossip.

Yeah what the service guy implied was a shortage and told me that my appointment possibly will be pushed and he doesn’t know until when which made me worry and posted here to share.

A parts delay for you doesn’t mean a parts shortage for all. What did they say is the expected date?

Mine was delayed and then it was received three days early and they got it instantly done.
It was implied by his words. My appointment is on the 17th and got a phone call on Monday that it could be delayed because of demand of PCS and lack of supply.

The service guy told me because of the demand they were having problems getting parts which I assume is a shortage. My appointment is on the 17th and got a call on Monday, 6th, saying that my appointment possibly will be pushed until they get the parts which he doesn’t have a ETA.

Sorry in advance to the engineers out there...

I hear PCS, PCS, PCS.

Now i see the invoice tag:
POWER CONVERSION SYSTEM -
48AMP(1777777-12-E) vs G.
In Tesla Guy's post

I had a similar crash, months ago, but they said they replaced the ANCILLARY LOW VOLTAGE HARNESS (XXXXXXX-00-G)

Is that the same thing or related?

Just wondering if i have a new PCS in my future? dead truck on the side of the road sucks...
Not sure if it’s the same wiring harness you’re referring to. But early on there was a recall or service bulletin, for a wiring harness that I believe was being potentially pinched and had to be checked. Or replaced/re-rerouted.
In any case, the PCS controls high voltage, not low-voltage

Explosive PCS shortage tsunami sounds about right. I dropped my truck off last Monday and was supposed to pick up this afternoon but got a call saying it could be there until Friday the 17th. Weird this is happening all at once but they gave me a CT loaner so it’s really not that big of a whoop. I’d rather have to take my truck into the Tesla service center once a month than have to go into a Ford or Chevy dealership once every two years.

As others have speculated about this sudden wave, it only makes sense that it's a software update that is sniffing out the issue earlier. That suggests they want to get these things replaced, which suggests that they believe they have the fix. At least, this is what I'm hoping.

Well "G" is the revision, I just don't think they fathomed this many trucks could be affected.. But here we are..
And yet no recall / special warranty that extends well beyond the basic… just not Tesla-like. I’ve read here that some service centers have sort of honored a free fix even if out of warranty but I think owners deserve the peace of mind of knowing that even though there’s an issue they’re good to go either way.

You're thinking of the flat ribbon harness from the right control module to the rear control module.

PCS also creates the 48V for the truck.

Yep. Just got done with a 5012k mile road trip. It was incredible. Best part, didn't have to call and schedule an oil change with a dealership upon my arrival. Essentially have to rework a days schedule just to make sure "they" do an oil change because it's under warranty.

Tesla. Schedule on the app. Set early morning appointment. Ask for loaner ahead of time. Drop off, pick up. No sitting in BS waiting room surrounded by salesman and screwing up your day.

This afternoon, I received HVBATT_a170, HVBATT_a056, and HVBATT_a742. Tesla offered me a service appointment of 4/27 as their earliest appointment. I called the service center and asked why. The representative responded that they are out of PCSs. She added that I will likely not receive a loaner due to the number of Cybertrucks having their PCSs replaced.

OMG brother, the PCS apocalypse is upon us. Really disappointing that Tesla did not plan accordingly and order PCS's preemptively for the CT in the field.
They have nearly real-time connection to our CT's know the mileage and by now - the occurrence rate of PCS failure...which looks to be 100%?.
