This is a solution to a problem that very few have. And those that have this issue might as well get a hybrid in the first place.

It would be better if someone came up with a form factor that best suites an EV with electric batteries and charger.

That much more to breakdown... Did you know hybrids have the highest average yearly repair costs? Battery EVs have the lowest even including all the battery replacements out of warranty.

Seems this would take care of a few issues, but I just do not see where it would fit in our CT's. I like the idea though.

Due to the ever-expanding Supercharger Network, very few of us have "range issues". There are three times the number of fast charging opportunities compared to when the Cybertruck was revealed in 2019. The last thing I would do is put a gas engine in a perfectly functioning electric truck with access to all Superchargers.

I would love to be able to throw a generator in the back of the pickup and turn it on if I needed it for areas where there are no charging stations. And to boot, be able to charge while I'm driving.

You think hacking your Tesla, voiding some potential warranty issues with charging and adding a motor is a great long term solution?

If this is what you want get a EREV like the Ram, new Ford, or Scout, but it's not a good solution for the Cybertruck.

How is using a generator/inverter to charge up you pickup hacking the system? And again, why is having an option to charge while driving a bad idea? I get you have an opinion, but show me some facts. It is possible for Tesla to make this happen if they wanted to. They got rid of the extra battery option and I can't drive my pickup some places because of the lack of a charging stations.

I would just like more range capability for the occusionly long trips or towing. And when I don't need it, remove the generator/inverter from the bed. It seems like a very logically request but it seems others don't agree. It would be helpful to explain the technical reasons why that would not be a good improvement.

Because Tesla doesn't allow it.

The only way for that to work is to hack the system. Tesla blocks charging while driving. There was a Youtuber who hacked the software/hardware to work, but again, you then have a high chance that any battery issues or charging issues will not be covered and potentially not repaired by Tesla. If you are ok with that, great, but it's not a solution for the masses.

It's not an opinion, it's a fact.
