Here are the patent numbers for the Tesla and Heimplanet documents. Took less than five seconds to google that just so we can all stop pretending we have no idea this is intellectual property law infringement.
Clearly, R&D and legal pursuit of protection went into this at some point.
Some of us believe that this protection is the law no matter what country you fuck over the inventors in and some of us don’t, and that’s ok. Do what suits you best.
Lets eliminate ignorance from this argument though shall we?

As I understand it, Cybertruckco, our beloved poway company was offered the opportunity to sell this Chinese thing in the US and agreed to do so.
Completely unrelated to name confusion with cybergear who happens to be a Chinese resale company sort of in the Tesstudio category.
Most likely, cybertruckco in poway received an inventory of these tents to mark up and sell at likely a very significant bulk discount and are giving or lending one to whoever the YouTuber is to review.
There is almost zero chance this isn’t seen as a perk by said YouTuber and the rest of the community no matter how it’s spun.
I’d much sooner believe the OP who appears to have no financial interest over anyone else.
Before this questionable at best decision, I’ve always known Cybertruckco to be an honest and reputable company selling quality products they mostly make themselves in house.
This move to flip Chinese shit for a markup, which they have been contemplating and executing for months is quite out of character for them.
We bought a sample in early 25’ to review market opportunities and understand coming competition without any commitment.

So you’re not selling them? I’m relieved. Didn’t seem congruent with what I know of you as a company. Still not fully getting why YOU are providing the tent to a YouTuber for review but I don’t understand how those relationships work very well in general.
Thanks again for years of contribution to the aftermarket Cybertruck community.
you guys are fantastic.

the patents quoted do not appear to prevent copy of the Tesla tent, or possibly even used, but I’m no patent attorney.

Inflatable ground tents have been around 50 years or more, on rooftop tents recently and I don’t doubt they designed the tent using some parts of the patents owned by other company or persons.

Not a defense for borrowing another companies ideas, but it happens all the time for every product, including mine.

We reviewed the opportunity but as you mentioned it doesn’t fully align with our strategy. That said our strategy is to provide CT customers with great products, produced in America, that they want. They’re going to be instances when we buy the same products as other people sell to service the customer well and keep some of that revenue in an American business versus Amazon or other international businesses.

I lent the tent to Dan because he wanted to test a Tesla tent and he didn’t know anybody who had one I happen to have this one so I offered to help him. We’re a pretty tight community of Cybertruck owners and we help each other out when possible.

Hope we are good! Text me if you want further info.

Absolutely. We are always good. Nothing but respect from me. The decision you made only strengthens the idea that you are a standup guy and a great company.
I love this tight knit little cybertruck community and while I’m not even in your class of contribution, I try and do my part also.
Part of that is speaking my mind even when it’s not a popular opinion.
I hear you on the old “but everyone else does it” argument. It’s a strong one. To me, not a good cornerstone for ethical decision making but a valid point nonetheless.

We have one of these tents and have found non of these customers issue with the product. Ours has been used a dozen plus times without any of the issues noted.

Specifically, to deflate, remove both nozzle inputs, it falls flat, I get up on the tent and push down any high spots, then roll it up, to the top back on it.

Not sure if we will resell it, because it's a knock off (but not sure if it has a patent or not?), but honestly speaking if I bought one I would be totally happy with it.

Good news is that this Youtuber guy is coming to test it tonight and our CyberCamper. Hope he'll give real world test on camera without any preconceived notions.

Hope that helps.

It would help if said YouTuber described the tent and was also truthful about what he was testing rather than review it as “the cybertent” or “the basecamp”

An update on my end. Paul, from cybergearco is in the process of generating me a return label and taking the product back. He has been easy to deal with and is taking ownership of this rushed and incomplete product so I give him respect for that. Hoping to have it packed up this weekend and back to the postal center on Monday. Definitely would be interested in an updated and improved version but I told him, in its current form, I simply can’t justify keeping it. Especially for the cost. Sounds like some users have had more positive experiences but I unfortunately wasn’t one of them.

I’ll continue to support cybergearco into the future as I have had some great products from them over the years. Unfortunately this one was a dud.
