Any updates on this? I am considering going with these tires for summer (275 being narrower than the standard 285 would result in slightly lower traction which shouldn't matter in summer). I am more concerned about like the tire falling off/breaking the bead since it isnt as wide as the stock 285s.

You might want to reach out to HANKOOK to get their official line on these tires on a Cybertruck. I suspect they would NOT warrant them because they are not recommended for the CT.

You might want to ask them why they don't have a tire for the CT. There might be a reason. Weight comes to mind also available torque.

And of course we ALL would be interested in what you find out.

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

I got the Michellins a couple months or so ago. They don't look as aggressive but I have noticed they are much quieter and a smoother ride I'd say. Pretty happy with them for actual use and they should last longer if think.

Just got my Hankooks installed. The tires got cheaper in the week between ordering and receiving/installing, by $12 each. I did buy the certificates, as Granch suggested, as I will do (some, limited) off roading. Total now came to $1325, including taxes and fees. Not bad.

Started a new trip counter to keep check of the Wh/mi. The Pirelli’s lasted 23,125 miles, with 365.3 Wh/mi lifetime average. Let’s see how long these Hankook lasts, 80K miles seems not realistically, but if the get to 50K that would be great.

They don’t look bad:

Notice any noise differences? Might be too soon to tell as these are fresh.

I have the LTXs currently, and they did well in the wet and snow, but their efficiency is crap. Since I have installed them, my efficiency has been sitting around 490wh/mi average where i was sitting about 440 on the Goodyear than ran out after about 23,000 miles. The current LTXs have about 5k miles on them.

Edit: I was more curious about the hankook ion hts.

Update after 280 miles, of which 250 miles of highway driving, 65-75mph. Not on FSD, chill mode.

The 280mi usage is reported as 372 Wh/mi versus 365 Wh/mi lifetime average (23K miles). Not a very statistical relevant dataset yet, at first glance a little less range than the OEM stock Pirelli’s. I have a much longer trip coming in the next three weeks, will gather another datapoint.

As for noise I can’t really tell. My hearing is not good enough anymore. For me wind noise is almost always more noticeable than road noise. My spouse called it “same as before”.

I will see if/how I can ask Hankook about the 80K miles warranty when used on a cybertruck. Per the American’s Tire employee there was no “restriction” as their system indicated this tire was compatible with the Cybertruck. I do not believe they will last 80K miles, that would be very surprising for a truck tire I think. The Pirelli’s lasted only 23K.

Trip B is lifetime, trip A is since Hankook, Since charge is the 250mi highway ride.

Man, those numbers are awesome. I use FSD a lot too (FSCB says 84% since they implemented that stat which has been consistent for my driving habits except when i moved across country while towing) but my lifetime is sitting at 440 and my current trip is at 487 for the last 2500 miles x.x

My FSD is 90% of the time in chill or sloth. Only inefficient thing I do is i dont use the aero covers. The "improved" ones i got still rubbed the sidewalls too much for my comfort.

Cyberbeast (and associated driving style) versus AWD/Chill mode would explain most of it I think?

I took my wheel covers off after 18K miles, when I did my first off road adventure (with Cyber Odyssee) January this year. Didn’t put them on afterwards, just for the looks. At that time my lifetime usage was 362Wh/mi. It went up to 365Wh/mi after that. For me those differences are too small to be firmly caused by one variable (wheel covers on/off). So many other things varied also.

My first long distance drive with the LTX actually caused me to submit a service request because the efficiency was so poor. I still have yet to figure out how to post photos on here but my tessie said avg speed was 68 on the freeway, 100% FSD, top speed was 78, average temp was 24F clear skies and I went 95% to 24% in 122 miles using 687 wh/mi. No significant wind that day and the vehicle was pre-warmed before leaving due to being in the garage, tessie said the battery was at 60F when I started the trip and never got under that.

Wow, that are high numbers. I have done several long distance drives on highways, all on FSD. In 13.x I set the max speed at 75; in 14.x I only use Standard.
Highest I have seen was around 450Wh/mi on a few legs, but then going the other direction the numbers dropped to low 300.

Very odd that the Michelins would cost soo much range?

Yea, I just ordered the hankooks. Discount tire said they only had 4 left in inventory in the US so we will see. I have about a 1500 mile trip planned for next month so I will see what it yields for me there. I was OK with the CB having like 10% less range, but the LTXs are crushing my battery (or at least I hope it is the tires and not something else).

Think about it, Pirelli and Hankook have spent millions on EV perfected tires
Tesla has selected them
The LTXs are not EV engineered
Maybe LTX get best mileage but at what cost
Back to the Pirelli, might be the best tradeoff of mileage and range
Think rhe Hankook a cannot match that vombo
But we will find out

btw, the wrangler Duratrak RTs are amazing in snow, range, mileage and sand
But not the range the scorpions get

My view, but that has to be proven still:
Pirelli Scorpions OEM tires are more expensive (fact) and less durable (I myself don’t have that data yet) than the Hankooks. Financially Hankook is “better”. If the range impact of the Hankook is huge as compared to the Pirelli, that could be a problem. But all first reviews don’t give such an indication. As you mention, we will find out.
