Learn how to f-ing AIR DOWN!

If you don't know how to AIR DOWN and drive on sand, don't drive your CT out onto the sand.

Any time one of us acts like a fool and gets our extremely capable trucks STUCK because they don't know how to drive on anything but dry pavement, you reinforce the idea that the CT itself is foolish and incapable. Your tarnish ALL of our reputations and validate the haters.

Honestly, to have to be rescued by a f-ing toyota minivan in a little bit of sand? COME ON dude. This was literally FRONT PAGE on r/all on reddit, not even in the haters sub.

1. Buy this "deflator" kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0L7JS2

2. Configure it (using its supplied directions) to drop your tire pressure to 20-22psi. (not below 20psi, not above 25psi)

3. Buy this bed cargo divider: https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-bed-cargo-divider

4. Buy this recovery strap: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BFCVQ2C?th=1

5. Buy this shovel: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BH7C339?th=1

6) Buy a small vehicle tire inflator (not battery powered), something like this: https://www.amazon.com/CRAFTSMAN-CMCE520B-Inflator-Tool-Only/dp/B07JLTMQJT

If you're not willing to get all of that and have it on you, don't drive on the sand. This is the absolute bare minimum equipment you'd need to even consider going on sand.

If you have all of that:

1) deflate your tires to 22 psi

2) Lock the differential after you pull out onto the sand

3) Make use of the off road app and settings.

If you get stuck, use the shovel to dig out, use the bed divider for traction, have someone rescue you with your own strap.

When you're back off the sand, exit off road, unlock the diff, reinflate your tires.

How could you possibly be this stupid...I have towed 8-9000 lbs trailers many many times into the beaches on Long Island and had NO problem.

why roll over a $350 bed divider when you can mount $75 temu traction boards to it and roll over those instead?

Does airing down to 36psi which is the lowest Tesla recommends really help that much or is it more technique? I don’t currently live near a beach but did when I was younger and if memory serves we used to de-air to a much lower pressure than that.
of course, those cars didn’t have a giant heavy battery pack in them.

36 psi is based on not unsealing the tire bead. Wes lost a tire at 25psi doing aggressive donuts.

When we went to Silver Lake Sand Dunes we aired the stock all terrains down to 15psi (park rules). That's right around the 2,000 psf value used for building foundations on sand.

But Tesla says, “hey, you’re like to lose a tire” if you do this. How did the car drive at 15 psi?

Only because it's already mounted in my truck bed L track for cargo dividing purposes, so I wouldn't want to buy or carry around any other hardware.
